  • EA & NFLPA attempt to Ish the "legends"

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

it's the NFLPA's fault, not EA's fault.

i buy Madden every year and i don't give a damn about retired players. if they dropped every reference to retired players, i'd still buy it every year.

the license is primarily for current players, that's where most of the profits are. nobody plays Madden online to use Jim Brown or Joe Montana, most people don't play Franchise mode to reenact the career of John Elway.

EA shouldn't pay more for retired players that barely matter, it's very bad business.

if the retired players want more of that piece of the pie, they should be taking it out of the chunk that goes to the active players, that's what the NFLPA should be doing.

NFLPA's fault, I agree. They're the ones who pretty much thought the same way as you and make backdoor deals with EA to include them without properly paying for them. They obviously thought it was important enough to include them to copy their numbers and likeness (and stats) so they should pay for it. The NFLPA rather than protecting its alumni decided to help EA screw them. Not nice.

Basically, the NFLPA acted like the government when dealing with big business in this case. Not good considering their entire reason for existence is to protect the players.
