I can't really put it into words how my expectations could have been any lower going into the trailer, and walked away devastated because my expectations were somehow just not low enough to not be phased by the absolute "bad" that this trailer is.

Like in South Park, nobody could think any less of Cartman, because he's so horrible that no matter what he does, nobody would be stunned/shocked by how horrible is.

But this trailer.......I just can't find the words.

Sounds like they got their degree from the Mortal Kombat School of Film Directing.

Who the hell is Goku? That actor looks familar...

But oh yeah, that's atrocious. I love how Piccolo is just a goth looking guy too. Where's the clip of him warming up for the spirit bomb for TWO HOURS?? If the movie doesn't have that it's lost.

As much as I hate DBZ, this movie should come with the disclaimer "LOOSELY based on the anime series Dragonballs which the director believes was not raped and humiliated enough in the US"

Goku is the oldest son from "War of the Worlds".

This movie looks atrocious. It just looks awful. The previews make Mortal Kombat look like an Oscar winner. haha

Oh fuck, man! I was really trying to forget that movie, and you fucking brought it up?! I was THIS CLOSE to forgetting that horrible movie!

But seriously, yeah, I was thinking that, too. Come to think of it, Mortal Kombat actually had better production values, so it's probably closer to Street Fighter: The Movie's quality. Did anybody play the game that was based on the movie that was based on the game?

Of course Mortal Kombat was better; it actually made enough to warrant sequels! That's right, Mortal Kombat 3 is slated for 2010 ;)

I actually didn't think the first MK movie to be that bad... to actually pull some semblance of a story out of a game that was nothing but a gory fighting game is pretty impressive. I agree though that Street Fighter was just painful.

Anyone remember Double Dragon the movie? ;)

Heh, DOA. One of the first movies we downloaded and watched on our HDTV. It was mildly entertaining, and I thought having the "My Name is Earl" chick on it was interesting.

And for the record, I liked Doom.

The only good thing about Street Fighter was Raul Julia; he was dying when he did that one.

Mortal Kombat (the first one) was a decent movie.

Yeah, it looks bad, but... no worse than the source material.

Fine, the plot is a bit cheesy, but it could have been done with a respectable story. We saw fight sequences in Matrix Revolutions that could have been in there.

We won't get that chance with this movie.
