well from my amazng powers of deduction (ie. I'm not fucking retarded and can actualy calculate 2+2.....) My guess would be the sound of the alarm clark. but then again I'm not a complete dumb ass. I can see how someone might not get that

No, I mean it's supposed to be some sort of inside joke that all Japanese sound effects are "pi pi pi". Hell, it was in Bionic Commando Rearmed, and I didn't really get the joke then.

I still don't quite understand it.

"Pi Pi Pi" is what the computers said in the original Bionic Commando. The end-level bosses were always computers you shot at the right end of a room, occasionally with something else in there with you (like the wave of guys or the bionic commander guy). They're nothing like the variety of bosses you have now. That was one of the few good changes they made to the game (otherwise it was almost too faithful of a remake).

It was a lame attempt at putting a computer sound into words by the Capcom localization team way back in the day. It became a bit of a running joke with the fans of the game. That's why they put it back into Rearmed as kinda of an inside joke to fans of the original.

Yeah, what computer or alarm makes a sound of "pi pi pi"? What's wrong with "beep"?

Which is why it's such a long-running joke

Well, either it's a long running joke among the Japanese in general (for it to appear in an alarm clock), or they really believe that things sound like that.

You know, that could be it as well. Maybe the localization team in the day left in there 'cause they thought it was funny?
