Brock Lesnar vs Randy Couture (Spoilers)

...Was a very similar fight to Barnett vs Randy Couture. While Randy was able to stay on the offensive for the first round during the second round he slipped up, and the bigger and stronger fighter took advantage and punched the crap out of him. UFC fans were not happy tonight =)

Technically Brock Lesnar is the new UFC champion, even though the belt doesn't really have much meaning at this point.

Joe Stevenson came out looking great as well, he came out looking like he could handle just about anyone... But Florian came out like a demon and massacred Stevenson with one of the best onslaughts I have ever seen; this was a great fight and the fight of the night by far.

The rest of the fights all were very good with some spectacular looking finishes both submission and KO. Mostly no surprises anywhere though. It was a very solid show, but it left a lot of upset UFC fans.

Update: Fedor Emelianenko now wants to fight Lesnar. It is unlikely that a fight between him and Couture will now occur.


The best contract Fedor was offered in previous negotiations was one that was rather terrible: Fedor would have to give up all other sports and fight in UFC exclusively, UFC would be in charge of management of Fedor, contract would be automatically renewed until Fedor lost, and of course there's the money issue (UFC pays a lot less than the open market). So chances of Fedor being involved in the UFC is low when M-1 pays 1.5 million per fight, plus he receives whatever other bonuses that the event gains him.

Just once I wanna see someone get a knockout in the UFC by way of the bitchslap. And I'd pay good money to see that :-)
