Aria of Sorrow was just as good as Symphony IMO. I haven't tried the three DS ones yet
See, I just don't get the same effect I got from C:SotN. The graphics were superb and employed techniques not seen in a 2D game before. And the soundtrack is still one of my favorites.
Now, they are reduced to releasing games only on portable, and basically trying to get a game as good as C:SotN out the door again, only to fall just short of their goal. I'll admit that they are getting really good at the gameplay aspect, which is the real core of the game, but I want to be impressed by wandering around underground caverns just to see the parallax backgrounds and listening to the music.
I really think they need to start releasing XBL games. Yeah, they might not make it as a full-blown $50 game, but XBL is a new niche, and they can use the full power of the 360 to showcase what they can do on HD. (Provided the stupid space limitations for XBL.)
