Happened across this link counting down to something... showing nothing but a mario-esque mushroom. Thoughts?

Mushroom Countdown
- Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.
Another fucking count down...
Remember the last one? YTMND had a fit over it, people thought it might have been the end of the world or something, and then it turned out some guy had just made a count down for shits and giggles.

There was some mysterious countdown that appeared online. Nobody knew what it was, where it had came from, or what it was counting down too. YTMND made a big deal about it--lots of little funny "what ifs" were spawned to dictate what would happen when the countdown hit zero.
The actual end result was fairly lackluster, IIRC, but the internet took a lot of notice over it.

The last countdown I recall turned out to be the announcement of Chrono Trigger DS. That was awesome

In seriousness though it may be something dealing with some new collaboration with Nintendo. Their most successful game in a very long time was one which featured several Nintendo characters.

The game was revealed to be an original title that parodies the 8-bit era. It's coming to WiiWare soon.
