Funny, we were just watching a CNBC documentary on the California marijuana industry. DEA agents just make me want to argue.

So, who's against legalizing pot?

Just as long as I don't have to live in an apartment that wreaks of smoke all the time, I'm for it.

As long as it's treated to the same restrictions and laws as cigarette smoking currently is then I don't care... although with the added ban on driving while high (I don't buy into the anti-drug commercial either, but you can not tell me that it doesn't impair you similar to being drunk).

Legalize it, tax it, everyone wins. There's a way out of this recession yet! Think of all the jobs and tax dollars gained by this new market.

Make the driving thing like alcohol. Very, very low tolerance for what's in your if you drive. Then it's no different than alcohol.

And those of us who own convenience stores will LOVE it. Our confectionery sales will skyrocket :-)

both the dispensary scene and the shutting-down-the-dispensary scene are in effect over here. it kind of sucks. you find a great spot then it shuts down because somebody in city hall got scared.

True, but I'd rather have a pothead on the highway than a drunk. Driving 20MPH on a freeway is still dangerous, but it's better than swerving on 75MPH.

Eh...I'd say they are equally dangerous because you have everyone swerving around the idiot going 20. I'd rather have neither on the highway. You want to do it, fine, but do it in private where it's only yourself that is affected.

That's like saying it's better to have a grandmother in her Cadillac with the handbrake on the left lane rather than retired stock car driver. Most places in the world they've actually recognized that slow idiots cause accidents (including in Scotland and up here in Canada) and are actually more dangerous than the fast ones.

i personally think cannabis doesn't really make you a more dangerous driver unless you had a bad addiction to speed anyway (the physical kind, not the drug)

that being said, i do not support cannabis being exempt from DUI regs in any way shape or form. treating it like alcohol legally is the best path right now.
