The game was pretty unstable for me for a time but I fixed almost all of that with staying on a lower version of nVidia (178.24) and turning off all the AA and crap like that.

Make sure you also have the patches for Fallout3, one game out a week or two ago. I still get the random crash but not nearly like I used to

I have the PC version and mine has crashed only twice. I haven't patched it at all.

Same here. Only time I experienced crashes was when I Alt-tabbed, and that was like twice.

I had some issues with the PC version. For the longest time it would on occasion crash randomly, but upgrading to the latest version of GeForce drivers caused it to crash during almost every usage of VATS. Rolling back to the previous version, along with toning down some of the graphics, made it very playable, but even still I'll get a APPCRASH dump to desktop error.

On a positive note, there was a torrent that arrived online yesterday for the Anchorage expansion.

Update your videocard drivers lately?

Okay, just so I'm straight here:

I'm supposed to buy the PC version of Left 4 Dead because of the multiplayer audience. But, I should have bought the 360 version of Fallout 3, because of the crashes. Now, I just bought the 360 version of Dead Space. Was I right there, or should I have bought the PS3 version?

When the game is multiplayer, you buy the PC version, but only after you look at the reviews to see if it crashes a lot. If so, then buy the 360 version, but if it crashes there, too, then you'll need to shake your magic 8-ball to find out what the exact answer is. If it says "Maybe", then buy the PS3 version. If they don't have a PS3 version, buy another game from a company that doesn't release buggy fucking software.

Why are you even bothering with a 360?

I've heard that there is no significant difference between the two (ps3 and 360) versions of deadspace. The only thing that does differentiate them are two suits that you can download, one being exclusively for the 360 and one exclusively for the ps3. They were both free initially, but are simply esthetically different. I prefer the 360's controller (in non-dpad situations) over the ps3's controller, so that is why I purchase all the multiplatform games on the 360. Also with the downloadable suits - DO NOT BUY THEM ON YOUR FIRST PLAYTHROUGH - since you essentially get a level 5 suit right off the bat, for free. It really makes the game too easy and takes away all of the tension and awesomeness that should be experienced while playing the game.

Latest NVIDIA drivers, lowest settings, latest Fallout patch. For a while after the patch, I wasn't able to open up a saved game, but I seemed to have gotten that fixed by re-patching the same thing.

It'll freeze after about 15 minutes of gameplay. Audio still works, but video and controls are frozen. Since I have the same resolution settings as my desktop, I can kill the game without rebooting, but it's still highly annoying. I don't have FFDShow installed, either.

EDIT: I've just requested a refund from Steam. This whole mess is bullshit, and the developer should be ashamed of putting out buggy trash like this.

I was joking, man. I was making fun of the fact that I have to content with the bullshit crashes on PC, but a lack of a multiplayer audience on the consoles.
