Blazed through the campaign and it was pretty bland. It's a nice looking game and all, but the story was nothing exciting, and I hated all my squadmates.

The controls are the BIG weak point of the game. Perhaps it's my inability to work the ps3 controller, but the cover system they have is retarded when I have to press: crouch, up, aim, and fire to shoot accurately. Pressing FOUR buttons to shoot (while aiming no less) is one of the worst experiences I've had. My hand was literally pained by the experience.

I've been able to shoot people in games ever since they released games where there were other people and shooting them was necessary. I'm not sure if there is a delay, or if there is no sensitivity that is to my liking, but aiming is really hard. It takes a lot of satisfaction out of killing other people when your killing spree was just because you ran into a room of enemies and were able to strafe around enough for them not to be able to hit you.

This all said, I've had a fairly enjoyable experience with the game. It's not the utter and extreme disappointment that was resistance 2, but this game is no COD4 or Halo3. The multiplayer mode "warzone" is something that is REALLY the high point of the game. You are given 7 rounds in a single map with no loading that each have different objectives (territories x2, capture the flag x2, demolition x2, and team deathmatch). It's really cool to win or lose, and then change objectives on the fly. I recommend this game despite its shortcomings, but it's nothing to get all antsy about not owning a ps3.

I've been playing the multiplayer for the past two days. Well, if you can call whatever awful performance I'm putting on as "playing". Anyways, the controls basically cripple this game. There is no feasible way to aim the weapon in your hands. The game basically breaks down into two fellahs spinning around eachother with shotguns, hoping for the best. It really LOOKS cool, and that's the worst part of it. The levels are really cool and full of character, there are some cool weapons and an interesting class system, but cool as it may appear, playing this game is PURE TORTURE.

Well, that's all for now.... back to getting my ass kicked.

If I had to do that for ten minutes, I would have just demanded a refund.

I can see the value in the game though. If you are in possession of a ps3, you should probably pick it up. The cover system is only implemented in the single player, and not in multiplayer. The multiplayer is where the heard of the game lies. Sadly, the aim is so unresponsive as to make it second only to the aggravation of the 360's dpad performance during a street fighter match. I've heard many stalwart lovers of the game defend this as being "weighty" and "realistic", but in all seriousness, it is the worst decision for the company to have made. If they change it to be more responsive, I will be happy. Also, remember that this multiplayer is FREE. Most still do not have headsets, but since it's a 32 player experience, you can only talk to your squad (that you either recruit or are recruited into mid-match) as to make the entire team's lack of headsets less relevant if at least the four of you have them.

Isn't it a bit sad then that such a flawed game - by your admission - is something you "should probably pick up if you have a PS3"?

I'm not saying the entire library sucks. I actually own 5 PS3 games myself while waiting for the system to become reasonably priced. I'm just saying that if you're ankerin' for something - ANYTHING - because the system just doesn't have very many exclusives worth much at all, it doesn't bode well for the cost benefit analysis of purchasing it.

I'll get one at the next price drop (since the used price will bring it down to about $250 Cdn or less) but it's not even close if you're deciding between this and the 360 right now. Hell, it's just not worth it right now even if you can afford both and look at what you'll get for the coin you spend on the PS3.
