way to play your way in....and I get to cheer in the first round....YAY!
2 great goalies with 2 good offenses. but the blues are hotter than me right now. funny enough outside of the sharks I can't see any of the favorites winning easily in the west while the east will pretty much just be the top except for maybe the Devils going downZeus wrote:Who are they playin' in round 1 again? Is it Vancouver? That'll be a good matchup. They'll be against the best goalie in the world.
The Blues are only hotter to you because you want Oshie's cheeks to keep you warm.Chris wrote:2 great goalies with 2 good offenses. but the blues are hotter than me right now. funny enough outside of the sharks I can't see any of the favorites winning easily in the west while the east will pretty much just be the top except for maybe the Devils going downZeus wrote:Who are they playin' in round 1 again? 1. It's hockey!Tessian wrote: I feel like I need a translator or something to understand this thread...
Wow...you are so desperate to find *proof* you are using a fan choice award? Hilarious.Imakeholesinu wrote:http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?DB_OEM_ ... &id=417597
Who won goal of the year? Oh and guess who it was against?
That's right it was Oshie vs. 3 Canunkleheads and Roberta.
yes history has tought me something. I'll look at how a team is playing when the playoffs come around. And the Blues have been playing a hell of a lot better than the Canucks.Zeus wrote:Hold on. You're going up against the best goalie in the world who's playing quite well and you're predicting your team to win in 5? If they had Luongo and a bunch of cardboard cut-outs you'd be lucky to get it in 5. Has history not taught you anything? This is the playoffs not some regular season bunch of games.
This is going to be a long series. 6 at least if not 7. Vancouver has better forwards overall and are more experienced and at the end of the day, their goalie is playing very well and has more talent than any other goalie in the league right now. So I say they take it but it won't be easy.
Ain't nothing wrong with the fan community. I tend to trust the fans of just about anything more than the "establishment" these days anyway, like I was just saying on the G.I. Joe thread on the other forum.kali o. wrote:Wow...you are so desperate to find *proof* you are using a fan choice award? Vancouver is walking through ya, I'll be nice and say in six. I'll visit this thread again and do my dance of always-right on the 26th
Not really. The Canucks went on a tear to win their division. That's what i was saying, they're both playin' very well. And with Luongo and a better overall forward group, I think that gives them the edge. But it'll be a close seriesChris wrote:yes history has tought me something. You don't have to follow hockey, but ya obviously didn't follow the link (otherwise, ya woulda known by simple commonsense how little that award had to do with anything). As for "fans" over the establishment, most voting polls I saw had the canucks winning that series at around 70ish %. Barret is just blind and bias...and Chris is psychotic. And both are American and therefore wrong on everything hockey related.Replay wrote: Ain't nothing wrong with the fan community. But, I don't follow hockey, so in the interest of full disclosure I must admit I know nothing and recuse myself from this thread now.
Poor Philly....they are so awesome.Chris wrote:Holy fuck. fleury tonight made one of the best saves I have ever seen midway through the third. he has been fucking fantastic this game
no ottawa goes futher before dissapointing. then they blow up their team to get better, alienate every player not named Alfreddson whose to busy enjoying the dick sucking they are giving him to care.Zeus wrote:Wow. Puh-lease. That was a no goal no matter which way they took it, dead play or pushing Luongo's leg in net with the stick.Imakeholesinu wrote:That 3rd period scrum in front of the net you could see from the replay it was a goal. If O'Rourke hadn't had such a quick whistle then this wouldn't be an issue. The problem was though he then went to review it after he said he blew the play dead. According to the official rules, once a play has been blown dead by an official it is not reviewable. So when O'Rourke went to review then the play should have continued with the puck crossing the line while Roberta lay spread eagle on the ice.
The officiating was trash, but the Blues never took advantage especially in OT.
Jackman was the only reason it wasn't worse, imo.Our Team Defense was poor. Jackman was out of position and coughed up the puck way to many times.
If ya say so. Desperation gave them some energy (after the goals), but they still couldn't beat the obviously better team. And they were dead and totally out of it prior to those 2 quick goals.Blues were playing 3 lines and still outplayed the Canucks 70% of the game.
Because they don't have the depth the canucks do, nor the goaltending. Like me and zeus stated at the beginningThe Blues wanted it more but couldn't score.
Vancouver will be a different team next season.kali o. wrote:Puh-lease. It was good, not sure what you are talking about - especially since the Blue's are the one's that ended up on the advantage end. The Blue's just couldn't penetrate the D and were kept on the outside (which allowed Luongo easy saves). Anyone have the final stats PP stats and 5 on 3 #'s?
Edit: I checked, 24 TS canucks, 18 Blues. No contest. Not even considering 5 on 3's.

Teams are different every year, the free agent status doesn't change much, it's just a reality of the new cap system. Pretty much every team is like that now in the "new" NHL now - what's your point?Imakeholesinu wrote: Vancouver will be a different team next season.
The Sedin's (UFA) and Sundin (UFA) along with, Pyatt (UFA), Krog (UFA), Vaananen (UFA), Wellwood(RFA), Burrows(UFA), Ohlund(UFA), O'Brien(RFA), Ouellet(UFA) are just a couple of the guys that are going to be RFA or UFA when their season ends.
The first year Ottawa was in the playoffs they were a good young team that was supposed to be one to watch out for and they got Ished (speaking of Ish, where the hell has that boy been?) by the Leafs and were swept in the first round. Then they got beat 3 more times in the next 4 years by the Leafs by the second round. Ottawa learned the very, very hard way what it takes to win in the playoffs.Chris wrote:no ottawa goes futher before dissapointing. then they blow up their team to get better, alienate every player not named Alfreddson whose to busy enjoying the dick sucking they are giving him to care.Zeus wrote:Wow. The Blues earned there way in and ran out of gas. THe difference was exactly what you said it would be Zeus. It was Luongo who was stellar. That was a good game yesterday though.
Right now I'm too busy being lectured on how when you are a goalie and initiate contact with someone skating backward a few feet outside the crease it's goaltender interference. no....no it's not...
yes, they did. and then they started trading away and alienating the core players on their team (Something Alfreddson is not. you have to have heart to be the core of a team)Zeus wrote:The first year Ottawa was in the playoffs they were a good young team that was supposed to be one to watch out for and they got Ished (speaking of Ish, where the hell has that boy been?) by the Leafs and were swept in the first round.
