The new Kindle has been some buzz in our department.

Personally I don't think its going to save anything. I have yet to even meet a person with one

If you could figure out some way to subsidize the cost of a Kindle for your subscribers with an Amazon deal like this, I'd start getting things like newspaper subscriptions again, in a heartbeat. Put the Kindle on a coffee table and set it to scroll while you eat breakfast, or have it going passively there while you watch TV...that's information, right there.

I have something better than a Kindle. It's called a PC with an Internet connection. Or a cell phone with an Internet connection. Take your pick.

PCs and even laptops are bulky and the display is not easy on the eyes. The Kindle's is. It's more like traditional reading.

Guess what, Sine? As hard as this may be to believe, I have a PC with an internet connection too! AND a laptop with an internet connection. And I'd still love to own a Kindle, but I'm not willing to shell out hundreds for one right now.

I dunno, I like the feel of my books, and my ability to let others borrow them when Im done. It is a neat product though, and supposed to read easier than a computer/phone screen since they use "e-ink"

The obstacle with the Kindle is that you have to find a way to get it in people's hands. I'd use it if I had one, like I said. But the price barrier is most likely keeping people away. That's why I thought the idea in the strip was brilliant.

Agreed. I would buy books for it but I don't want to pay the 400+ initial price.

Yeah, same here. A co-worker's wife has one and loves it. I played around with hers and found it to be very nice, but it's just too expensive when I can borrow books from the library for free.

I abuse my books by tossing them in bags and whatnot. I take good care of my electronics, though, so finding a balance would feel odd at first.

I like technology and have no problem adopting... but i just like books! Its easy to browse your own physical library, i like to quickly flip back hundreds of pages sometimes to re read parts, and i even enjoy the smell of the paper.

I dont think ill get an e-reader anytime soon. I would only use it for novels since i like to get my news elsewhere and i dont see the upside of a kindle since i only read one book at a time.
