Yup I have been following it regularly, checking the site every week or so, he is making a lot of progress, but from what I can tell he still has a long way to go, I dont think he has even started to design the sprites for Zeta or Omega metroids yet.

It'll likely be another year before he's done but that's all good. I just hope it turns out as good as it looks

Yeah I've been following it for a couple of years now. Looks damn good, it looks so good if Nintendo came out and said "lawl, fooled ya, this is really our site." I wouldn't be surprised.

If Nintendo has half a brain and it plays as good as it looks, they should just offer the guy a release on WiiWare with some Q&A on their part. They don't have a history of doing anything remotely close to that smart but let's hope their new execs in the US finally change that idiotic attitude.
