So yea, found out today that the sale on our house is finalized, and conditions have been lifted.

Can't remember if I posted this, but we went through a fall-through on our house (completely not our fault) in early July that resulted in us losing another house.

We put an offer in on a house on Wednesday, and all that is left is to have to furnace inspected before we lift conditions on the purchase. This house actually turned out to be a lot nicer than the first house we ended up losing, so I think it worked out pretty good.

Should be all moved in come September 21st!

Congrats, man. First house is always a big step.

Being a Canadian, you are going to take advantage of all the first-time home-buyers credits and shit, yes?

How big is it? I made sure that my first house was going to be my last.

You mis-understand:

The conditions on the sale of our CURRENT house went through. Unfortunately, we just bought our house last year, so we'll miss the boat on the first time home owner tax credit that was introduced this year (house posession has to be after January 27, 2009, and no grandfathering in to the plan for the previous year).

This will be our second house.

Sine: It's 1050 square feet 3-bedroom bungalo, with a full basement. We are planning on renting the basement out until Kyra gets her career on track. She's got one more semester of a double-degree left. And with vacancy rates being below 1% in my city, thought it would be a good idea to make some cash. We will have more room than we have now, a garage, and a way better house in general (including area), and we'll be essentially paying the same as we are now in our old house after the renter is taken into account.
