I'm not personally offended, I just think that was a genuine poor call on localization. It's not a user content issue like the LittleBigPlanet sackboy school bombing thing.
It just doesn't provide context. Everyone's entitled to their opinion though.
I know they have a lot of words in there, but this is one of the issues with introducing context into word-based games (which is only going to get bigger, you watch) - you also inadvertently introduce history, and connotations. I don't really care, and I don't see a reason for any hue and cry, but I still think it's something that apparently has been taken the wrong way for some.
Localization and real-world-context issues for ingame features are not easy for the best of companies. (Or for anybody.) Kind of reminds me of the few games that have tried to depict Jesus and mostly gotten reined in, because nobody wants to touch that one with a ten foot pole.
