  • NIS re-releasing all their PSP games for CHEAP today on PSN

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

Is there an easy to copy list of the games? My work blocks game sites, blah.

Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero?
Blade Dancer: Lineage of Light
Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness
Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! What Did I Do to Deserve This?
Dragoneer's Aria
Mana Khemia: Student Alliance

Blade Dancer is $5, Disgaea and Dragoneer are $15, the rest are $10. At least for us Canadians

also, a million other psp games hit the psn store, just not so on sale.

I am excited about this, but if there is a boxed copy for these full games available, I would much rather buy them that way.

Ah, this is all apart of the PSP Go launch they promised. Something about adding 100's of games at the same time the Go hits the shelves. I'm a lazy sack of shit and hate switching out UMD's so i would def rather DL one of these while i cook dinner tonight. I've heard Prinny was pretty good.

Again, i like the DL revolution. Its far more convienent and even if your mem card fails you can re-DL it from the PSN anytime you want. As long as that infrastructure remains solid then you basically do own the game forever. Not that i would lose sleep even if i lost my DL games, ten to twenty bucks for a few months of entertainment is well worth it, whether you get life long access or not.

Maybe its a getting older thing, because i love putting in old NES and SNES games to play, but the games i buy lately i probably wont want to play again 20 years later.

Of course, no question. But $10 for Prinny instead of $40? That's a great value.

See, I go through older games all the time. That's why I'm not a big fan of DLC. We're going through the entire Metal Gear series right now. Just finished #1 and are moving on to #2. The original's 12 years old now. I HOPE I can play BC:RA or MM9 in 12 years.

I'm really missing my PSP right now. I'd mentioned about a year ago that the screen broke and I never got around to getting another. The Go is really tempting to me but because of the price, size (lot of people are saying it's too small for large hands), and no "goodwill" program Sony had mentioned for transferring UMD's to it, I'll probably end up getting another 2000 or 3000. Shame too, because I really like the look of the system and 16GB of memory is plenty for storing PSP and PSOne games.

I thought they had a UMD transferring system in the works?... Maybe it will just take a little longer for it to roll out.

I bought Pixel Junk Monsters last night and it is a really well made tower defense game. I tried to browse the new stuff but PSN may have been overloaded with users because it was running slow and stuff like pictures werent loading. So, i guess there is something wrong with DLC afterall, it can get to be like a crowded store.

Sony has basically said that the UMD-transfer idea is a no-go. I heard that a couple days ago. That's a huge deterrant to buy a Go, imo. If you already own 10-15 PSP games, it'd be such a waste to buy a Go.

That said, the Go does look really nice.

Edit:

Yup...Sony axed the plans.

Thats pretty shitty. I only have 5 or 6 UMDs, but some are great games that i still play. I guess i'll keep my PSP-2000, too, for the time being.

Besides, i just spent 30ish bucks on an 8 gig mem stick pro duo card and the Go uses mem stick pro micro.

The attractiveness of the Go is that it would be easy to tote around, but i suppose i still wouldnt find myself leaving the house with wallet in the back pocket, cell phone in the front, and PSP in the other. Even a tiny device like the DS Lite doesnt get the 'carry everywhere i go' treatment. The PSP slim is small enough to bring when you know you are going to use it or to toss in a backpack/suitcase/workbag.

The Go is dead before it came out. You're paying more for a system where you can't use the games or any of the accessories you already bought. Or, if you don't have a PSP already, now you're looking at a portable gaming device which only has a fraction of the games available to it for an inflated price over retail in most cases.....and that's before you even start talking about the used market. Add in the fact that you actually have to pay more for less functionality, there is a very high chance this becomes the next Game Boy Micro rather than an iPhone.

Blotus, you can get a used 2000 or 3000 for $100 or less. It's just not worth payin' 2.5x times than and then some to play half the games you already own

Yeah, Nintendo held its monopoly in part by making the DS backwards-compatible.

Backwards compatibility is not some vagrant idea that should be laughed out. The value is HIGHLY underestimated, and it's a shame not enough companies go forward to implement it.

It's much more important in the handheld market it seems. Every single one of Nintendo's handhelds has been backwards compatible to help ease the transition for people.

Having the Wii backwards compatible with the 'Cube is nice as well. Same with the PS3 and 360. I hope that trend continues

Blotus has some games since he broke (unless he sold them). That's what I was referring to

But even if you don't, why would you only want access to some of the games, many of which you'd pay more for? It really doesn't make sense to me
