Fedor fights tomorrow on CBS

I think a lot of people here are already familiar with Fedor. He's been the top fighter in the world for almost 7 years. Longer than the sport has been popular in the US. He has 30 professional MMA wins with only one very questionable loss (since it was a cut from an illegal elbow strike) which occurred 10 years ago and avenged in brutal fashion, 12 time Gold medalist between Sambo and Judo. He is an expert in every area of MMA. He has defeated every person who has stood before him over the past 12 years. He trains like a machine, and fights like one.

Brett Rogers is a young and very hungry up and comer, only 28 years old he stands at 6 foot 5 and 265 pounds. He looks something like a giant Mr. T. He has 10 wins and 0 losses, 9 by knockout and 1 by submission; all of his wins within a 20 minute span.


Also on the card is another USSR born M-1 fighter, Gegard Mousasi. At only 24 years of age he has 26 wins under his belt, and only 2 losses. His accomplishments include wins at middleweight, light heavyweight, and heavyweight; he is the latest Dream GP Champion, Dream Middleweight Champion, Strikeforce Light Heavyweight champion, and Cage Warriors middleweight champion. I'll let this video speak for itself Mousasi vs. Babalu. He is fighting Soukoujou, a fairly hit and miss fighter, he has KO'd some of the greatest fighters the sport has ever seen including Ricardo Arona and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (Little Nog); but he has also lost to nobodies. Hard to say how he will appear.

Gegard vs Sokoudjou was a fairly good fight.

Fedor vs Rogers was an excellent one too. While Rogers was clearly outclassed, he did better than expected. He landed a fairly good straight cutting Fedor's nose. Fedor followed with a couple of hooks the second connecting, knocking Rogers off balance, which led to a take down and a few punches on the ground by Fedor. Rogers recovered and stood to be taken down again a bit later. Fedor attempts to take the arm but Rogers manages to slip through and powers to the top for a few seconds and gets a good 3-4 shots in before Fedor catches him in an arm-bar, again Rogers slips out. In the second Fedor stalked him down and after 6 or 7 blocked punches Fedor nails him with the same hook that ended the Sylvia and Arlovski fights, and it's over.

Overall fairly impressed Rogers lasted round 1, it has been a while since someone has done that. He only has one loss and a bright future ahead for him. He needs some solid wins over more top guys other than Arlovski to solidify his place among the top 5.

Now is Overeem manages to win the K-1 WGP (doubtful, but he has a shot); then the Fedor/Overeem fight will be the biggest in years.

Near the beginning of the second round. Rogers actually did a decent job in the first.
