That's not the way Darwinism works. Stupid driver actually tried to go into the emergency lane to bypass a cop. Yeah he's still alive (alert when they took him to the hospital, currently in critical condition) and according to the article they're unsure what the driver was doing. It's possible that something went wrong with his car and passing judgment on what was going on would be a mistake.

I was there on that fateful day, were you?
It doesn't take that much to go that fast. My 150hp Jetta can easily creep up to the 140mph mark.
