So I'm looking at the latest episode where Luffy finally starts learning about Haki, and after it's explained to him about how you can use it on other stuff to imbue stuff with Haki he says: "Oh so those weapons were imbued with Haki? I thought they were just made out of Seastone!" And that really highlights one of the nonsensical nature of the world view. Why learn all this fancy stuff and train when you can just have weapons made out of Seastone? Haki looks suspiciously like HXH's aura, but beyond that it's got an exact parallel to when Kurapika was training in aura, and his master says you can either spend all your time mastering aura to materalize a really awesome sword, or you can just go buy a really awesome sword. In other words, his aura power is actually pretty darn useless compared to someone who can afford to buy a legendary weapon since he drew the whammy on the aura system. And no this isn't something that is nitpicking because there are clearly people who use Seastone-coated weapons, like Smoker has it on his sword, and in the sky island arc a guy basically almost took out Enel with a rocket launcher with Seastone coated bullets. In fact if you look at what happened, even if you assume Seastone powers magically expire for story purposes (you can just like take a Seastone coated weapon and stab him while he's down to prevent him from regenerating), only someone with a lightning element could've survived (by CPR self) whereas even stuff like Ice/Fire/Sand would've died since they wouldn't be able to CPR themselves after their heart stopped beating! In the Impel Down the guards had no shortage of Seastone nets and similar weapons that, if they actually hit, would easily take out any fruit user.

If the Straw Hats are smart, instead of training harder they'd invest their money into Seastone gloves, boots, and swords. My guess is that Seastone must be really expensive since only Marines are shown to be in possession of it outside of the Enel arc. A gun with Seastone bullets can pretty much take out any Fruit user since 99.99% of the time the users will not dodge the bullets thinking he's imprevious to the effects and then he'd get killed.

On another note, the wealth distribution of OP is pretty odd. A mermaid got bid up to somewhere around 500 million of the world's currency. Luffy's bounty is only 300 million, so to buy your own pet mermaid slave will cost more money than what it'd take to take out the son of Dragon D. Monkey, the world's most dangerous man. The Straw Hats have a networth of around 500 million in bounty, and this is an organization that is at war with the World Government with only 10 members, so a pet mermaid slave is financially equivalent of a nation's military power. In fact it'd be a pretty strong nation since it doesn't look like it'd even be very tough for the Straw Hats to take out an entire nation if they wanted to, at least nations in the first half of the Great Lane.

A Pacfiist unit is said to cost about as much as a Marine battleship, and I think they quoted the figure somewhere around 100 million and that's just for the cost of the ship. Now you know pretty much any guy with a bounty of 100 million or higher can take out a battleship easily assuming it's only staffed with normal Marines (no Admirals class leaders). On the other hand a Pacifist unit can put up a good fight against the entire Straw Hats before losing, even though the Straw Hats have at least 3 guys that can take out a battleship solo. I saw someone said that instead of having a Buster Call requiring 5 battleships with 5 Vice Admirals, they should just send 5 boats with 5 Pacifists on it (same cost, no staffing needed). If 5 battleships can blow something up so can 5 Pacifists, and 5 Pacifists are considerably stronger than 5 battleships in just about every way possible.
