  • Rock Band 3's Pro Mode will completely change music games

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

I had sworn off buying any new music games, but this might reverse that. I'm a sucker for drums so pro-mode drumming would be an awesome challenge and I might learn some things. :)

Heck, I'd even love to pick up one of the guitars and try Pro-Mode guitar. I haven't read the article yet. Did they announce a price for the Squier yet?

Wow, shit ain't cheap. $80 for the keyboard, $150 for the full guitar, and $40 for the cymbal attachments

They will actually have MIDI adaptors so you can use your real MIDI keyboard or MIDI drums too and there's going to be a real Stratocaster that's compatible with the game. Sounds fucking cool but it may be too far out of the price range of most. Thankfully they're completely optional as they're only required for the Pro mode

I wonder if it's going to be a genuinely good way to learn how to play.

Judging by the screens, you're playing tabulator notes for the guitar and there will be an actual real Fender that'll be able to connect to the game. It's pretty damned close. The drums were already not too far off and if you can plug in your own MIDI keyboard and use it, I'd say it'll be a very, very good start
