I know a few of you guys here are Dead Space fans so I'm sure you're lookin' forward to #2 comin' in January. Well, if you plop down $5 now at EB, you can get a copy of that downloadable game Dead Space Ignition for free (instead of payin' $5 to d'load it). The game is basically a motion comic with 4 different paths and one of three puzzle games of increasing difficulty along the way. Sometimes, you'll have to play multiple of them in a row as well. The puzzle game themselves are pretty basic, nothing special really and can be a little annoying on the harder ones. But the good thing is you have very different endings depending on the path. I finished both branches of the "top" path (choosing the first option the first time) and got two very different storylines in the 3rd act (of 4). Made a pretty big difference, actually. I gotta try the different second act with the two branching thirds from that and see what it's like. There are leaderboards and multiplayer missions to go through as well if you care.
For free? It's a decent distraction. For $5? It's OK. I guess it would be pretty neat for fans of the series who want everything but not really something a non-fan would enjoy. But if you're waiting for #2 to come out, it's worth plopping down $5 next time you're in the games store and playing this game for a little bit.
