Lots of great memories:
* Finishing it for the first time
* Taking part in a group effort of attempting to finish it 99 times to see the Princess naked during the first grade.
* Putting down Commodore 64 and Vic 20 forever; since this was where it was now at.
* Looking forward to Super Mario Brothers 3 like a teenager waiting for my favourite band to come on stage (only it was for like a year with SMB3).
Discovering Super Mario Brothers was like being 12 and discovering it was alright to close dance. It was like discovering Nevermind and Bad motor finger after putting up with MC Hammer, Bolton, New Kids, etc... It was like discovering Eazy E and NWA and that you get a reaction when you say the word "fuck" (although "tits" was my first favourite bad word, I learned it when I was 4 or 5). It was just one of those things that brought a lot of joy to a kid's life for better or for worse. The beginning of why I am a gamer today.
I have been playing a good amount of Super Mario Brothers 3 lately. The game that, for me, will probably never get old.
