Somebody was drunk and excited about that game.

Could be the lifhtbulbs, but I think CFL was that fictional Canadian football league from Seinfeld; the one that Kramer was interested in.

Can't say I am. Heck...I couldn't even get into it when Baltimore had a team in it. :)

Can't get into it. I think it could ultimately be a better game than the NFL but with so few teams and what is the equivalent of MLS-talent playing, I just can't get excited over it.

May also have to do with the constant Argo trainwreck?

Like yesterday's game?

No, it has nothing to do with the Argos at all. Actually, when I was in high school and university, they were good. They had Flutie and won a couple of Grey Cups. It's just the "lesser" quality, for a lack of a better term. The players aren't as good (missed tackles are a constant), the strategy isn't as good, the coaching isn't as good......it's not the game, it's those involved who are basically rejects from the NFL (and NFL practice squads) make it a lesser product. It's like a soccer fan who's used to Premier League watching the MLS, it's just not the same.

Making the assumption that the players in the NFL are far 'superior' is a bit misleading sometimes, especially if you look at different positions. There have been those from the NFL who come down to the CFL and failed miserably. The games are just different. With 3 downs vs 4 downs, the emphasis on the run game doesn't exist in the CFL to the degree it does in the NFL. It's definitely a passing league.

Not saying the NFL doesn't have the superior talent on average, but there are a hell of a lot of good players in the CFL. Just remember, out of all of the colleges out there, only a relative handful of players will be able to take up the available spots in the NFL come draft time. There is a lot of left over talent there that can (and do) develop into great players. The CIS is starting to turn out some really good players, as well.

Personally, I haven't really ever been able to get into the NFL. I've tried. CFL just seems faster paced to me (play wise), but I'll agree the explosiveness of the defenses and running game isn't there like it is in the NFL.
