From what I can tell based off these videos, taking damage gives you access to assists, more damage you take, and a different assist comes out

You have 2 special attacks a & b, and you can use them whenever but they have cooldowns.

If you get into the red you can use a cinematic special attack assist, if it connects that is. I imagine you can only use that once though.

There's NO WAY that a out of date model like Megaman would have a chance against KOS-MOS.
