A while ago I was saying how Japanese detective manga seems to be more concerned about how something is possible as opposed to whether any evidence exist to support the claim. Well the whole Armstrong thing is like that. I assume at this point they're not going to find any evidence like a positive drug test or a picture of Armstrong taking illegal substances. As far as I know even if I get five of my friends and say we swore you do drugs, they can't bust you just because we said so if you've never been tested positive for that drug even if we all know you really well. Yet it seems like most of the public is convinced that because it is possible that Armstrong doped so he must have done it, probably because people assume nobody can be that good without drugs.
I mean of course it is possible he can do it, but as far as I know there are no evidence that'd be enough to prove it. And this isn't something where getting evidence is impossible. If Armstrong is supposed to be this ringleader in doping like some of his accuser allege, then there has to be some kind of infrastructure. I also can't see how you'd possibly be in on a massive doping ring without having something that prevents you from being caught when tested. After all cycling is tested constantly and there's no way you'll just do this stuff and ruin your career if you can't at least be assured there's some way to avoid it. Since Armstrong is constantly tested you know he's obviously got some way to avoid it, and it'd be bad for him anyway if his teammates got tested positive, so Armstrong or a ninja or someone not only has to give you the drug, but you also have to have something that prevents the drug from being detected. There's just no way the ring is possible without such a thing (because all the underilngs would've been busted then) so if people are looking for the truth, they should be able to find something that prevents drug detection. And whatever it is, it's got to be something pretty sophistcated, far more than whatever you and I or internet armchair lawyer know. Sure you can say maybe Armstrong keeps the best stuff for himself but he'd clearly have an interest in keeping his underlings undetected, so even his underilngs would need to have stuff that keeps you clean that's far beyond what current technology can detect. So if someone said, "I took this stuff given to me by a ninja working under Armstrong to appear clean all this years" that could be pretty convincing proof, but so far I haven't heard of anything like that.
Then again, I'm reminded one time in Kindachi a guy got shot by a poison dart in the darkness from the front, and Kindachi arrested the only person behind that guy because he is the only person who CANNOT have thrown the dart from the front, but since it is actually POSSIBLE to do it with some fancy/nonsensical gadgets, the guy behind the victim has to be the criminal. No evidence is needed, just the fact that he thinks a guy who can throw a dart from a physically impossible could've done it (and he could) was enough for him to decide that guy was the criminal. Of course it is possible Armstrong eluded 500 drug tests with something none of us knows about, so he must be guilty.
