  • Nintendo makes several fairly big 3DS announcements

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

This is from a pre-TGS press conference from Nintendo.

1. I recently made a post where Capcom announced Monster Hunter 3D, which is a remake and expanded version of Monster Hunter Tri which utilizes all of the weapons, monsters, and features from through the generations. Today, Monster Hunter 4 was also announced for the 3DS. Watch the 2D version trailer here - no youtube link yet. This is a major win for 3DS as Monster Hunter was the largest game in the handheld gaming industry which Nintendo didn't have. It pretty much solidifies the 3DS as the top handheld system in Japan, where last generation 50 million handheld systems sold (33 million DS, and 17 million PSP).

2. 3D video Recording coming to 3DS this fall

3. Zelda - The 4 Swords remake, coming with a method for playing the game in single player. This game is being released for free.

4. There will be a revamp to the 3DS E-store. Currently it is somewhat of a cross between the Nintendo channel and the VC store on Wii, but it looks like this will be taken further and to a better state than it is currently in.

5. Fire Emblem 3DS 2D footager. This is a fairly nice additions for big fans of the series like myself =)

6. Dynasty Warriors 3D announced, Sonic Generations, Final Fantasy + Kingdom Hearts Theartrythym, Culdacept (Strategy/RPG), Tamadochi Collection, Tekken 3D, Mario Tennis 3D, Shinrei Camera (some sort of horror game utilizing the camera), Bravely Default (Square RPG utilizing AR features), Friend Collection/Tomodachi Collection (Sims type game uses Miis, and seems to have gameplay more akin to Animal Crossing - fairly major series in Japan), Ace Combat.

7. Skyward Sword contains: 50-100 hours of play, Master Quest (not sure if that's factored into the 50-100 hours), Hint videos like Ocarina of Time 3D, and a Boss Challenge Mode (fight only bosses). While not 3DS, still was a part of their 3DS press conference.

8. Animal Crossing 3DS - Robust Connectivity and Street Pass functions which include things such as House Sharing, players can fully customize their houses on the inside and on the outside. From early trailers, it also looks like diving will be incorporated into the game. I just got City Folk a short time ago, I avoided it due to some bad reviews, but it turns out that the reviews were fairly inaccurate (as I am finding the game, while similar, to be a much more polished and eventful experience than the previous two titles); I am really enjoying the game now that I have it - only costs $20.

9. New optional Circle pad attachment for a left-camera stick which is an optional attachment primarily created for an additional camera control option in Monster Hunter 3D; but usable in Kingdom Hearts 3D Resident Evil, and Metal Gear Solid. $12.50 for the price (probably released here for $9.99).

Grabbed everything from GAF, Nintendoeverything, IGN, and vgchartz.
