Whitney Houston passes out in bathtub and drowns

Likely you heard about her untimely death last night, but there's some new information available now on a probable cause:

TMZ is reporting that Houston was found in the tub with her face below the water's surface. Sources said Houston's hairdresser had gone to check on the singer after becoming concerned that she had been in the bathroom for more than an hour. The body's position suggested that Houston slid down the back of the tub into the water.

There are reports that Houston was known to be taking Xanax and other prescription sedatives, which, combined with alcohol, may have caused her to fall asleep in the bathtub.
