It helped establish what would be Canada and is also the only war on American soil fought against a foreign enemy that you Americans actually lost (we'll just neglect the fact that we came down there and burned down the White House.....yes, it happened :-). Ya'll don't really talk about it much down there, do you? But between this and Vietnam (yes, you lost that one too), you can learn a lot.
