I guess that is the "adapting" part. I've always associated Blackberry=RIM because it's been a part of the BB culture for so long. It's a good business move to shift to Android, but it's a survivalist move. Sometimes businesses crash and burn with the last ditch effort to remain relevant. (I remember ATARI's last computer was a PC compatible one, because PCs were dominating the market. It failed.) Time will tell if it will work out or not.
I do agree that there isn't a lot of brand loyalty among the Android phones right now. I mean, there's some, like I'm a big fan of HTC phones. But, I switched to a Samsung one because it was new big phone out there. It's sort of like Intel/AMD during the 90's. Or consoles. (Fan of Nintendo during the early years, switched to Sony, then switched to the 360.)

The business world is slow to adapt in certain parts, but their employees are demanding iPhones and Android phones, so it's starting to happen. As soon as a business accepts those kind of phones, there is little loyalty towards Blackberry any more.
