I still do read around here occasionally, but I don't forum in general as much as I used to.

My life:
29, got my MD in 2010, currently in my 4th year out of med school and 3rd year in Radiology residency in Pittsburgh. Have a year left after this one, then will be off to an abdominal imaging fellowship for a year somewhere. Then, I'll finally make some money! I am engaged to a girl I met up here (from OKCupid!) who is a resident at another hospital. She's from Alabama, so we're looking to move further south for fellowship and beyond.

We live in a cozy 2 BR house and will probably get a dog sometime in the next year. We are getting married in February. I don't game as much as I used to, mainly because of work hours and studying - but once I'm done with my board exam look freaking out.

I used to have a Subaru RS too! My mom's got it now, but I want it back. Currently driving a leased Subaru Crosstrek XV.

Ah, Sephy, good to see you and to hear that things are well! Are we going to do brief blast updates?

I'm 32, but still remember finding this board (or whatever the Shrine was in its many versions back then) in my high school computer class, so i must have been 16 or 17. I married my high-school GF after college at 22, but it was short lived and we divorced around 25. Waa waa. It was for the better, though, as I grew bored and instead of voicing my opinion that I'd prefer not to own a house in the mundane suburbs at 24, mowing my lawn next to my 54 year old neighbors, i turned to gambling behind her back. As it turns out she was cheating on me behind mine. Pretty funny stuff nowadays, and its amazing we still keep in touch and are cordial today. C'est la vie.

I moved out of Northern Virginia and into D.C. and feel like all the pieces of my life have been properly put back in place. I do well with my job as a CPA doing accounting for a green energy developer while also doing personal taxes for a small client base on the side. The city is great, I have an awesome group of friends and a wonderful new girlfriend (also from OKCupid!) who is a librarian for the EPA. Insert sexy librarian jokes, they are all true. But, lately, I have been getting itchy again... so the latest news is that we have decided to move to Colorado. Boulder, to be exact. We are ditching the fast paced high pressure D.C. city life for the chill hills of the Rockies and I cant wait for that new chapter to unfold. My current job is understanding and supportive. I might work remotely or, if not, my boss will give a great recommendation to whatever i find in Boulder. In a few short months i'll be residing there and hopefully enjoying a totally new environment and lifestyle.

I buy 4 or 5 games a year, but have not bought a PS3 or XBox. Its all computer gaming at this point and I have a pretty powerful rig to handle anything current. I'll fire up the old school NES, SNES, and PS2 every so often to relive the glory days, too. I ride motorcycles (current bike is a Triumph Bonneville), like cartoons, read lots of fiction (just discovered the Oryx & Crake series by Margaret Atwood and its great), and generally am still a kid at heart.

Life is really good and I'm happy. I really want to get a brown standard poodle once in Boulder with the GF.

That's three of us professionals in a row who responded (I'm a CA/CPA). 37 w/ 3 kids (4 1/2 yr old twins, one of each, and a 3 yr old boy). Just passed my 10th anniversary myself. Your pain is just about to begin my friend :-)

Arioc/The Gray introduced me to this board back in '97 or '98.

My collection is still growing to insane proportions. I think I'm about 2700 games or so over about 60+ different systems and variations of systems (ie. Genesis 1, 2, and 3; regular vs top-loading NES; etc. It's my one hobby and I keep it very well maintained, organized, and contained so I'm "allowed" it.

Los Angeles is the most unique city I have ever lived in. I find myself with nothing to do...so I self train in 3D animation...then I get a bunch of jobs (coz LA is about who you know) where I can't say no (coz I need the exposure) and I'm burning the candles at both ends. Sometimes I get 2 hours of sleep a night. However, I enjoy the work.

Know anybody at HBO? Hook me up! I would assist edit Game of Thrones like a mofo.

That's cool. I actually work for a company in Pittsburgh. 100% Telecommuting with the occasional trip over there for events. Much less stressful than the cable company.

I'll be 30 in a few weeks. I originally got sucked into this place back in '97 when Wild Arms came out.

Got my B.Sc. in computer science back in 2006.

Worked at an insurance company doing jack-of-all-trades IT stuff for just over a year. Pay was shit.

I moved to a power company in 2007 doing security administrator work (Active Directory mainly). Although it was a temporary job (left a perm one), it paid around 35% more, so I took a chance.

Got my CISSP (certified information systems security professional) in 2009, as a boot camp course for it happened to be in town. Work was nice enough to pay for it.

Did the admin gig for a few years as a temp full time employee, then had a re-org at work in early 2010. My boss at the time was made head of a new Information Security group, while still keeping the security admins under him for a while during transition. Was at this time a new Security Specialist position opened up, and even though it asked for like 5-10 years of experience and investigative experience, he hired me. Biggest break I've ever had. Been doing that ever since as a perm full time employee.

Currently studying to get my GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE) certification. Computer Forensics is quickly becoming my niche. I'm really lucky to be working with the guys I work with. So much experience to learn from. I would venture to say there aren't many infosec teams at utilities with this much experience and skill.

As far as personal life, I got married in 2011, although my wife and I have been together since 2005 (proposed in 2009). We're on our second house, a modest 3-bedroom bungalow. Have 2 dogs - a shih tzu-pomeranian and a gordon setter cross. No kids, not sure if we will have any, but we haven't ruled it out.

I don't game like I used to, but the past 12 years of my life have invariably involved playing Dark Age of Camelot in some capacity, which is actually because of this board. El Kabong and someone else mentioned it, so I picked it up. Hooked ever since (even though I picked the wrong realm and never actually played with them, lol). Since March, I've been playing quite a bit more. I'm exceptionally picky about what games I spend my time on. I need a new RPG (a real one, no Mass Effect 3 garbage). Where's the next Xenoblade?
