I picked up fourgames that I feel like I should have got a while ago:
FTL
Spacebase DF9 (Kind of like Gnomoria in space)
Banished (Gnomoria without Orcs, Mants and stuff, less of a creative focus, more of a resource management focus)
Terraria

I picked up Divinity Original Sin, Cinders, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, the Shadowrun Returns DLC (which has gotten crazy high reviews for a DLC), and Mirror's Edge. I tried Mirror's Edge when it released and my computer at the time just could not run it and I didn't feel like troubleshooting. Figured since it gets so much praise, is one of the few IPs with a female lead, and is getting a sequel that I should give it a go.

I still need to pick up Broken Age and Banner Saga if they fall to $10 or below.

Edit: I'm probably going to buy DF-9 and Banished at some point, but probably not this time. If the developers keep on developing the games by the Winter sale I'll probably get them then.

It's pretty slick how Reddit has basically rigged the teams to all win twice each.

FTL is super addictive, a very good game.

I still have yet to finish off the last ship on easy, but I figured out late that there is a warning before it launches all of those Protoss Carrier drone-ship things during its second phase, and I almost dread the third phase! =P -- I almost got there too, but after defeating the second phase my ship was on fire all over the place and it blew up... Anyway, if I hit my cloaks at the correct time, I should be able to evade a good portion of the shots.

I've managed to beat the game a couple times.. probably both on easy, but that was around when it was released. From what I've heard the free DLC they released some months ago adds some layers that probably makes it even tougher. It really is a matter of luck if you get to the last sector and have a ship capable of killing the boss. A lot of the time I would just spare myself the frustration and quit out once I got there if I felt like the ship I was in wouldn't cut it.

That slug ship was definitely my favorite out of the ones I unlocked.

I managed to take out the boss without sustaining any hull damage. I had a few Zoltan crew members, very high evasion, level 4 shields, and a cloaking device with the augment that allowed me to fire without disrupting the cloak. There is a warning of a power-surge on the enemy ship about 2-3 seconds before the super weapons are used, so that is the point where I activate my cloak.

For weapons I had teleport bombs with high hull breaching capabilities, so I took out his missiles and shields first, and then just let my blasters handle the rest.

That's a good idea.. I never bothered with cloaking or teleporting. I just went with drones and standard weapons. I think my most successful tactic was using bombs to breach the hull and destroy systems and then I would teleport crew-killing bombs while they were trying to repair the system.

I grabbed the Blackwell bundle for $2.50 during a community sale earlier today. I've had my eye on the series for a couple months now and now that it finished back in April I figured $2.50 for four games and ~$8 (or whatever) for the final one was worth it. I've finished the first two which have scored really highly in terms of story and was very impressed by all the non-technical aspects of the game. I fired up the third game (which the dev apparently took two years to make as opposed to 2-4 months for the first two) and the difference was apparent the second the game launched. In any case, I really love playing it for the most part.. it does have some issues making what you need to do next apparent, but that's pretty standard for a point and click adventure. I'm going to take a wild guess that this will probably be my best buy during the sale.

Edit: I finished the Blackwell series and it was pretty amazing. If you can get past having to resort to a walkthru here and there for the first two or three games and can get over how clunky the interface is at times, then you're in for a really great series. The final twists were really well done and honestly I don't think a single part of the story was predictable. Just really well done. It's kind of worth playing through just to see the developer grow in skill from 2006 to 2014

Man I really hope Broken Age is part of the daily deal tomorrow.. this has been really blue balls-y during this sale waiting for that game. It was up for the vote on the community sale list at one point but people decided that Bastion should go on sale for the twentieth time.

The vote had it up for a potential extra 33% off bringing it down to $8.50ish.

I am probably going to get Spacebase DF-9 now that it's $8.50 for the next 6.5 hours, though.

I bought it. I'm not 100% sure I plan on playing it until the second part comes out.

Just a note, with DF-9 - there isn't a whole lot there yet, the game is still in early alpha. Gnomoria is much further along, and is the same genre - but the developer has slowed down since the birth of his child.

I don't blame you. I pretty much blew through the content in about 2-4 hours, including restarts. I'm going to check back in 5-6 months.

While not a part of the sale since it is new - Shovel Knight is not one to miss. If you were a fan of NES, this is the very best retro style game I have ever played. It's available on consoles as well, I got the Wii U version so I could have a semi-console/handheld version.

The default Steam page always makes me feel a little :| after a sale.
