<div style='font: 10pt Arial; text-align: left; '>As most of you know I'm in the market to purchase a next-gen card from nVidia (the 6800 standard is my best bet right now at a street price of $299) but I've read several articles saying that nVidia recommends that both of the two 4 prong power jacks on the card should be connected to the Power supply using one dedicated string. Now, since that's a shit load of draw and I've got multiple devices (4 HDs, 1 Burner, 1 DVD-ROM) in my tower this is pretty much impossible to give up. My next solution would be to go for an ATI 9800 which is on sale, but I feel like buying one of the biggest badest cards on the market right now so I don't have to deal with a video upgrade for at least 2 more years. Unfortunatley I value shopped last year and got what I paid for, a card that would bridge me over for a year till HL2 comes out. But I digress, my main question is, and I've heard of people doing this, is to get a second power supply for my full tower. I'd love to do this but how do I get the power supply to turn on when I boot the computer? I've got 3 extra power supplies at my disposal right now (2x 250 1x 300w) all of which will feed the power need of the card, I just don't know how to go about setting this whole thing up.
