  • More advice: buying the wife an mp3 player for Xmas. Which ones are good? I'm lookin' at spending between 100 and 150 Cdn (about 80-120 US) and want at least 128MB. Good places (that ship to Canada) to buy would be appreciated as well as the good brands

  • Somehow, we still tolerate each other. Eventually this will be the only forum left.

<div style='font: 10pt Tahoma; text-align: left; '>Your best bet, for that price range, is to go with any of the numerous flash mp3 players i think. iPods and their clones are too expensice and complicate things, i think with the flash guys you can simply plug in, drag and drop until it is full, unplug and go. I've never had one though.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt Tahoma; text-align: left; '>*shameless Sony plug* Sony has a 256 flash device that is tiny and has great quality for like $170. I dont know how they do it, but the battery life on 2AA's is around 70 hours which shatters all the other which are usually 20 max. /*plug</div>

<div style='font: 10pt Tahoma; text-align: left; '>oh wait, you would have to convert your mp3s to Sony's stupid ATRAC3 format before you can put them on the thing. Sometimes Sony gets too full of themselves, forcing you to use their made up format is annoying.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt Tahoma; text-align: left; '>When i bought a MiniDisk player a while back it was for metro rides, i end up using it more, now, in my car since i dont have a CD player. For some people versitable portable players can be great.</div>
