  • Looking for a new RPG, I'm considering the first Grandia, however, after playing part II, I'm a little worried of getting another BoF ripoff game. Everything about Grandia II is similar to Breath of Fire except for the battle system...

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

<div style='font: 10pt Verdana, Tahoma; text-align: left; padding: 0% 10% 0% 10%; '>That seems like a loaded statement, since I consider the BoF series very typical RPG-fare.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>Breath of Fire III in particular. The Dungeons are more or less mazes, not much unlike BoF3. The overworld is nothing more than a map, and you basicly travel through the overworld area's almost as if they were Dungeon levels, in both games. The game even has a similar atmosphere as BoF3. I don't really consider either game a bad game, it's just, I had just finished Skies of Arcadia, and DAMN that's like going from a Pizza to a plain Soda Cracker.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt Arial; text-align: left; '>Hell, I've been playing every RPG I could find since like 1984, and I'll still not claim to have played that many of them. I've missed a good many of the ones in Japan that never got released here.... as well as lotsa modern ones that I've not had the time to play. ^^;</div>

<div style='font: 11pt ; text-align: left; '>The second game is paced better though, with less mindless dungeons and the like. If you're looking for a new RPG, I could also reccomend Wild Arms Second Ignition and Valk. Profile. I didn't play the domestic versions of either one, but I doubt it'll be much different.'</div>

<div style='font: 9pt arial; text-align: justify; '>Oh, I'd say differences abound. For instance, every BoF game I've played sucks, whereas Grandia games have served so far to be hella fun and entertaining, irregardless of its supposed "ripoff" status.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>I've played a few Japanese RPG's, Fire Emblem 3 was awesome, used a walkthrough for translation</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>Both those games are awesome, I'm probably one of the few that liked WA2 more than the orriginal</div>
