  • This November, I expect the Mario Brothers to beat the crap out of Bill Gate's Xbox.

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

<div style='font: 11pt "comic sans MS"; text-align: left; '>I don't expect to see much Gamecubes on the shelves since that'd be the most wanted of the two consoles.

I'd say most hard core gamers and serious gamers(hard core with little time to play yet keep an eye on the industry to buy only the must have's - since time is a commidity to us) would choose GC without much thought or afterthought. Among casual gamers, I think most would choose GC over the Xbox simply because of it's price tag. $200 is well within an ATM's limit, with a $100 to spare for a game and a controller. The GC would be a perfect companion for my PS2/DVD system.

Xbox will get still get a good market share....but it will take time. Then again, Sony and Nintendo will be fighting as well. This will be interesting indeed.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>Sony has the best reputation, but inferior console.
Microsoft has, well, Microsoft, but it lacks the experience.
Nintendo has the best price, but it has the 'kiddie' image.
Damn, I wish I were very rich so that I can just buy all three :(</div>

<div style='font: 12pt Baskerville; text-align: left; '>...<i>because they've got the games, if not the image. X-Box simply hasn't made the impact it needed to prior to launch, while every GameCube screenshot seems to induce uncontrollable drooling. X-Box will limp along, mainly serving as a stable PC development environment. While that will be bad for X-Box, it will be great for PC gaming. The X-Box and 3DFX folding are probably two of the best things to ever happen to PC gaming. I was so jacked by the PC's E3 showing that I've started setting serious money aside to get the system I need. Star Wars Galaxies, Project Ego (could be the coolest game ever made if it comes together), Max Payne, Unreal 2...PC is becoming the shiznitz. X-Box might be worth getting on the cheap for all the eventual ports of PC titles...although PS2 will probably get them as well. Okay, so there's no real reason to get an X-Box...yet. Who knows what Gates might pull out of his ass, but it doesn't look good so far. Aside from Halo and a limited exclusivity time on DoA3, they ain't scaring anyone...

GameCube on the other hand is looking awesome. I've become a rather big fan of Rare with their last 3 games I played on N64 (Jet Force Gemini, Perfect Dark and Conker) so I'll be getting a Gamecube for whatever they decide to put on it...and I better at least see Perfect Dark and Conker sequels, or I'll be throwing the most embarrassing hissy fit you've ever seen...but with Rare and all their other franchises (just the little Zelda teaser they've been showing has me excited) the Gamecube has nothing to worry about. They can just rake in the money and enjoying being the hunter for awhile...</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>Clerk: Sorry, but a complete set of PS2 cost $400, which means you'll need around 4 million rupiahs to get one.

<div style='font: 10pt Verdana, Tahoma; text-align: left; padding: 0% 10% 0% 10%; '>Sega does add another variable, but it's also convenient to dismiss the contradictions to what you said. PS did come out before N64, but there were many other more important factors involved in PS's dominance.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt Arial; text-align: left; '>No, but, Sega does count. They have been involved in the last three generations of consoles. Playstation succeeded in it's first generation, for a good many reasons other than being "first out."</div>

<div style='font: 10pt "Arial bold"; text-align: left; '>Sega doesn't count? What was the massive early success of the Genesis all about? Remember, that's when Nintendo started getting labelled as the kiddie system and the Genesis as the first "cool" system</div>

<div style='font: 10pt "Arial bold"; text-align: left; '>Rare already has all but announced Perfect Dark 2. As for Conker, fat chance. The first one was an awesome game, but it was a helluva flop. Not good for a game that took up so much resources over so much time</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>Sounds like Sega doesn't count because it takes this "First system" theory and shoots it to the ground. There were other 32 bit systems before the PSX, btw, I don't see them anymore.</div>
