  • Sleeper hit - Okage : Shadow King.

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

<div style='font: 11pt "comic sans MS"; text-align: left; '>I just got the game awhile ago. I played a bit. Damn the script is funny! All the NPCs have these funny quips! And the (Shadow) Evil King Stan...he's a hoot! You will love this character! Oh man! :D

People were aware of Ari's peculiar shadow...and found him rather nice. Of course, Evil King Stan couldn't stand being a "cute" shadow. Also, there are some situational comedy. Example :

A woman lost her hat to the wind, as it blew it up a tree. So Evil Stan wants to show his powers off to the "weak" humans. He said "Grovel before my stupendous evil power, you pityful humans!" And he stretches up and fetches the hat for the lady. Not knowing the good deed he's just done. :D

Here's one where one villager is telling the Shadow King(who'm he's very fond of, BTW) that they're frightened by a lowly ghost.

And since I played only a bit, I didn't get to any combat so I have no opinion yet. So far, the controls are dead on, moves like Devil May Cry : depending on where the camera is, you point the stick to where Ari will move to.

The graphics? Oh.....my.....gosh. Claymation graphics, anyone? But smoother moves. That's all I can say.

So far....this game is dripping with personality. I love it. And I played no more than 20 minutes.

Tomorrow, I'll have more to tell.</div>

<div style='font: 14pt Plakatbau; text-align: left; '>No, I was just coyly belittling that example. However, I must say the game box honestly intrigued me. I'd give it a spin had I any access to a PS2.</div>
