  • Microsoft is seeing some hard times now, After 5 months the closest competition being the Gamecube (released around the same time) has sold nearly triple the Xbox World Wide and the PS2 which launched 2 years ago has sold 10 times as many.

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

Also, with Microsofts online features, 50 bucks American per year (That's like 80 Canadian), and you MUST pay this fee to play online games on the Xbox. Gamecube and PS2 leave the charging fee up to the company which may use any server for online games with no extra monthly fee's. This will mean that Nintendo and Sony have the edge on the online market which Microsoft has invested so much money into.

Comparing the Gamecube and Xbox, In North America by March 31st Gamecube had sold 2.23 million units. Microsoft stated that they had sold 1.8 million units by April 15th. North America is Microsofts Home territory, and the Xbox has failed to sell in Europe and Japan, I believe the numbers in Europe numbered around 120,000 and in Japan somewhere around 200,000, which means the Xbox has sold roughly 2,120,000 units which is less than the Gamecubes north American sales alone by March 31st.

So much for Microsoft monopolizing the industry =P</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>It as sold around 2.5mil worldwide according to those numbers. Where are the numbers for the other systems? I can tell you Sony has SHIPPED 20 million PS2s, so we know it's whuppin' the 'Box, but Nintendo won't have more than 3.5mil units or so worldwide</div>

Took me a little while to dig this one up, Gamecube sold 2.23M by March 31st, by April 15th it could have been more than 500K ahead of Xbox in North America. Guess I was right earlier =)</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>Wow, they've done pretty decent in Japan, too, at 1.5mil systems. Don't forget, these numbers don't include April or May. I'm surprised they've done that well here with so few games. No wonder Microshaft is shitting themselves</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>First off, that $50 a year ($4.16 per month) will cover ALL games...and if you think PS2 and Gamecube based games WON'T be charging monthly/one-time fees (FFO anyone?), you are downright retarded (and a bunch of games charging monthly fees = more expensive and confusing).

Second, why don't you factor in the add-on costs ; )

Third, I doubt the GC is beating out the Box in North America...*shrug* And if it is, I find it all the more amusing that most GC owners STILL whine about not having any games to play (I know, I know...just wait, they are coming [seems familiar] ; )

Very few people seem to be viewing Microsofts online strategy in a negative light....strange that you do....</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>According to Seek's link, GC sold 2.3 mil units so far. There was another link posted here that said 'Box sold 1.8 by end of March. Now, unless they went on a tear, GC is beating them, which is VERY hard to believe, considering the lack of games so far. And 'Box's online is great, I agree</div>

<div style='font: 11pt ; text-align: left; '>I'm sure, Resident Evil helped it sell over here. While in Japan I know it didn't kick much ass, over here RE has and always has been ridiculously popular.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>I simply wrote a short post on how Microsoft had by far failed to achieve expectations, of course, cutting their sales predictions in half and still failing to meet them was probably proof enough. I also used a very well respected source.

All you have done is make baseless assumptions on what I have written and what you believe, and accompanied that with childish insults and using absolutly no sources.

Which sounds more like a fanboy to you?

<b>Spoiler Message:<b>
<span style="background: black; color: black;">Obviously people believe the Gamecube has the better games than the Xbox or else it wouldn't be selling so much better in every market, especially since the Xbox had a much higher funded marketing campaign. Obviously Reuters is a much more reliable source than the doubts of some kid in Vancouver.</span></div>

<div style='font: italic bold 14pt ; text-align: center; '>the x-box online may be great but I think it's more getting hurt by the fact that the system is a giant painted fucking cinder block and the controllers are just huge badly formed bricks. My god, everything about that system is lame. The button configuration. YOu can't reach someof the buttons...</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>TG I agree, Jaguar was fairly shitty all around aside from maybe 3 games, and the controller was the worst controller in recorded history</div>
