  • Got my bud's Xbox and have been putting in quite a bit of time with the system over the last 2 days....

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>...all of it on Project Gotham Racing. This game rules ass and the gameplay is even deeper than I thought initially. It's all about the combos when you're far enough and that takes expert driving. You have to balance speed with style to even reach your goal sometimes 'cause if you're not fast enough, you can't get the combos, and they're essential in harder difficulties. Not to mention all the different modes of play. Man, was I surprised to have unlocked yet another mode, the Medal Mode. I thought the game was packed as it was. Really, the only thing stopping this game from beating GT hands down is the fact that you're limited in your cars. If you combine the customization of GT with the modes and tracks of Gotham (there are like 100 different tracks in this game), you'd have the ultimate racing game. The gameplay is deeper and more varied in Gotham but there's no customization and it's not nearly as realistic as GT. It's all a preference as to which is better. I really can't pick between the two, but at the moment, Gotham is taking up ALL my time (mind you, I've already put in like 40 hours on GT3...). i have Dead to Rights, Max Payne, Munch's Odyssey, and Halo still sitting in the bag I brought them over here in; I just can't put the damned racing game down.

And for the record, anyone who doesn't get sore hands after using the standard Xbox controller for a few hours due to the sheer size of the thing is a sasquatch. Period. I'm 6'2" and not a very small guy and it's too big even for me. Thank the lord for the Controller S, which is basically a copy of the DC controller in terms of how it feels (of course, it has extra buttons, an extra analog stick, and the stupidest placement of the start button ever, but it feels the same, which is great for racing games).</div>

<div style='font: 12pt "Times New Roman"; text-align: left; '>I thought that the first time I used it, but when I played again its really not that bad, though I do prefer PS2 and GCs. DC still is my favorite controller.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt "EngraversGothic BT", "Copperplate Gothic Light"; text-align: left; '>When I first saw it, I thought the DC had a huge controller. It's still bigger than your NES/SNES or PSX controllers. Still bigger than your modern GameCube and PS2 ones.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>The Controller S for the XBox is A LOT like the DC controller, with a couple of extra buttons and the extra analog. I love that one. For me, it's a toss up between the DC and the GC controller as my fav, with the Controller S not too far behind (some odd button placement hurts it)</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>But it fits so beautifully in your hands. It didn't hurt my hands after MANY hours of Crazy Taxi playing like the 'Box one did with 4 hours of Gotham</div>
