  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

<div style='font: 10pt verdana; text-align: left; padding: 0% 10% 0% 10%; '>To what? Certainly not being taken seriously, not with categories like that.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>Even the Oscars started out small and stayed that way for how many years. It's better to have something than nothing at all. If they see that even a show with categories like that gets good ratings, they might start taking it seriously</div>

<div style='font: 10pt verdana; text-align: left; padding: 0% 10% 0% 10%; '>The problem is who is doing this? The Academy Awards are people inside the industry; it's awards from your peers. That's why it's respected.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>I agree, but if something like this gets done and gets good ratings, it leads to bigger, better, and more respectable stuff later</div>

<div style='font: 10pt verdana; text-align: left; padding: 0% 10% 0% 10%; '>Eh, not necessarily. We both agree this is silly (I think), but I just can't see it as progress.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>It shows that there's at least a market for this kind of award. It shows that the industry is big enough for that. Soon, it'll lead to better things (I hope)</div>

<div style='font: 10pt verdana; text-align: left; padding: 0% 10% 0% 10%; '>It's a multi-billion dollar industry, it's no secret that it's big. Some awards show on TNN isn't the videogame industry's coming-of-age party. THIS won't lead to anything, I think. Other things may lead to nice things, but not this in particular.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>Wrestling is also a multi-billion dollar industry, don't mean it gets respect. There's a difference between big and respected, games still have to cross into the realm of respectability. Eventually, they will, something like this SHOULD help</div>

<div style='font: 10pt verdana; text-align: left; padding: 0% 10% 0% 10%; '>Respect? Look at the categories. We're going in circles... everything can be said to help, on some level, but not everything is significant. This may help, but I don't see it as significant.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>But at least watch it. If there's crap ratings, we'll only ever get crap shows</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>lol, fair enough. For most other things, I would say "fuck this, it looks stupid" (like, say, one of the MANY movie awards shows), but I just think that something is better for nothing for games right now</div>
