  • Listening further to FFX's soundtrack, I think it's among the best in the series (if not the best). Opinions?

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

<div style='font: 11pt "EngraversGothic BT", "Copperplate Gothic Light"; text-align: left; '>Among the normal series, maybe, but I'm still partial to FFT.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>Getting more composers for FFX OST helped cut down on the number of filler tracks but it's still pretty high for a RPG, at least compare to the older RPGs. There's a bit too many variations on the Suteki Da Ne theme. Overall I'd say it is probably the best FF soundtrack. But individually I don't think the tracks are the best out of a FF game. I think FF8 has the honor of having the best individual tracks (and also a whole ton of garbage filler tracks). If you count Tactics as part of the series, I think Tactics OST is better, but Tactics OST is basically all battle music so it's not really fair to compare to FFX OST which is mostly not battle music.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>All game soundtracks, no matter how good, have junk/filler tracks - even stuff like Xenogears, Chrono Cross, and C:SOTN. It's all about the number of good tracks and how they balance out the filler, both of which FFX does well at.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>Of course, we're talking about soundtracks for games, I don't listen to those because I dislike having the music out of context with the actual game.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>As does FFX. It's a very good soundtrack, I listened to a lot of it. Personally, I think Chrono Cross has the best soundtrack since the SNES days. Xenogears was very good (same with Kingdom Hearts), but not like CC's</div>
