  • Wild Arms is being remade...

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>From Magicbox:

Sony announced Wild Arms F for PlayStation 2, a remake of the first Wild Arms RPG on PSone. Wild Arms F will have proportional characters and realistic 3D graphics, not the super deformed and cartoon style characters from the original version. All the game text will be rewritten, and there will be 8 playable characters, with up to 3 characters in battles. There will be approximately 2 hours of event and movies, with full voice dialogs. The game will have updated system and battle engine from the series. Wild Arms F will be released in Japan this winter</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>I'm not sure where the extra 5 characters will be assuming the story is still similar. Lady Harken, Boomerang, Jane Maxwell, the elf girl, and one more maybe?</div>

<div style='font: 10pt verdana; text-align: left; padding: 0% 10% 0% 10%; '>I liked the original Wild Arms, but I'm surprised they'd bother remaking it. I rented Wild Arms 3 last week. It seemed pretty typical, I only played about an hour of it.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>Only if they're on acid... which actually might be the case.... hmmm, then Cel shading would look realistic, but either way, I don't care much about graphics, I like Cel shading stuff when I'm drinking.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>I'm with Don on this one. But I still disagree with him about Wild Arms 2, I think that game, if anything, was better than the original.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>WA2 is basically the worst mix of technology and fantasy I have ever seen. Nuclear Dragon? WA2 also had a couple of extra characters that did nothing to further the story if not detract it, like the human cyborg girl (Kanon?) and the vampire girl. Tim is slightly on the boring side too... though Colette was a good character. Wild Arms characters weren't necessary that great but they're all meaningful to the story. WA2 at times felt like a FF game where you have characters just for the sake of having characters. The game would've been beter if they cut out the useless characters. Caina and Antonora were pretty worthless since they were horribly developed. I know Caina was supposed to survive after you take out the 4 guys because she's supposed to be super loyal to Vansfield so she wanted to live and stay by him but it just didn't work out. Antonora had the same problem too... it just wasn't convincing that she was really trying to get herself killed so Vansfield would be sad because that came out of nowhere. Ptolomea and Judecca were okay though.</div>
