  • Sword of Mana is out for the GBA, did any of you know about this?! :) Final Fantasy Adventure remake.

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>I loved Final Fantasy Adventure, it was probably my favorite overhead adventure game up until Terranigma, definetly a very worthy game to receive the type of treatment it's getting =) I just picked it up today, but I won't touch it until I am done Fire Emblem.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>I thought it was an entirely new one, not a remake of the original Seiken Densetsu..</div>

<div style='font: 11pt ; text-align: left; '>It's hard to tell, there are some simliarities, alot of towns are mentioned also the Empire Vandelo or whatever it was called, but I can't quite say it's a complete remake or a new game....</div>

<div style='font: 11pt ; text-align: left; '>OK, I'm like the fact this game has plot. :) I also like the gameplay it's on point, although I'm still trying to figure out how to do combos at will, have yet to get magic.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt ; text-align: left; '>Yeah, it's official, it's a redone ver. :) Only thing that sucks is that it looks like you're stuck with the girl the whole game, and she has a serious pathing problem, worse then any past Mana game.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>Have you made it to Mr. Lee's hotel/mansion yet? The place that's kind of eerie, like a dracula movie?</div>

<div style='font: 11pt ; text-align: left; '>In Final Fantasy Adventure you start off fighting that goofy beast that's easy as cake, and get the backstory.
In Sword of Mana, you can pick a boy or gril game, I picked the boy, and a flashback ensued showing the boy playing some instrument or something. Anyways, as it countinues you go home to see Dark Lord, YES, Dark Lord, that's his name, as if that's not a huge hint that he's evil. Anyway, he's trying to get into your house believing that you're harboring fugitives, you enter the house through the back, blah blah blah, you meet the girl, and then you escape, you get caught, she flees, and then you're in a dungeon about to fight as a gladiator years later, after waking up from a dream(The flashback).

In Final Fantasy Adventure You fight the monster then run out, a big dark guy catches you and pushes you off a cliff.
In Sword of Mana, you fight the monster, act like you support 'Dark Lord' and then walk out, you're at a bridge celebrating your freedom with your commrade Wily when Dark Lord shows up with soldiers, he offers you to join his heretic hunters, you refuse try to attack him, and get smacked over the waterfall.

Pretty much the same so far, kinda, with a little extra stuff. When you meet the girl, she wasn't being escorted by anybody like in the original, and she can also fight. Topple is the first village, then Wendal, there's a couple new characters here and there, the world is bigger as well.

Feel free to ask about the game, I like it so far.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt ; text-align: left; '>I'd say so, the graphics are on point, the gameplay is fun, although why they changed it from the perfection that was Secret of Mana, I'll never know. Like I said, my only gripe is the stupid NPC AI.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>I mean the graphics and setting were both fun, but the magic system was absolutely ridiculous, it made everything to do with the game a cake walk, all that you had to do was kill everything with magic, end bosses hardly stood a chance. I also really disliked how you had to wait for your meter to max out every time you attacked with a regular weapon, that was really lame and pointless.

In my opinion, Terranigma had the perfect type of gameplay.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt ; text-align: left; '>Magic was unbalanced, this is true. But I liked how you could charge up all your weapons and master them! It seemed like the other games abandoned this, and it was just annoying.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt "EngraversGothic BT", "Copperplate Gothic Light", "Century Gothic"; text-align: left; '>Secret of Evermore fixed a lot of problems with SoM's gameplay. They should make a sequel to that game.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>That's why I like Secret of Evermore better overall. It had a way better magic system.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt ; text-align: left; '>Did having to wait until your meter hit 100% really bother you? It charged faster and faster as you got stronger. I agree on magic, but still.</div>
