  • Can someone give me some tips on how to get used to the crappy camera system in Ninja Gaiden?

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>It looks good, plays fast, etc., but when you can't see what the hell is attacking you half the time, arrrgh! I want to like it, I really do, but it's so freaking hard in the first place (and I only beat the second level/started the third last night) that the lack of visibility & cheap deaths that come from it are going to make me stop playing soon if I can't figure out how to get around it.

It's even more frustrating because if NG used the same camera system as, say, Beyond Good & Evil or Wind Waker, I'd love it.

<div style='font: ; text-align: left; '>After you've upgraded your sword to level 2, you will have a air dash technique which turns out to be pretty powerful. Combine that with the x+y homing jump you really don't need to have the camera set up optimally to do major damage (although liberal use of the L button to center the camera couldn't hurt either). If you get caught in a bind, look for a wall, run up it, and do the flippy sword thing.

Or, if you prefer, you can play defensively, and block until you get the opportunity to do a counter attack, which also turns out to be pretty damaging.

Of course, that only has to do with fighting. The platforming parts of the game do suck ass with the camera system. You pretty much have to have patience and be prepared to do them over and over and over and over again.

<div style='font: 11pt arial; text-align: left; '>I found the camera to be pretty fantastic, myself, but if I were to give you some advice, it would be to block - a LOT. Wait for the guys to attack you and counter. That way it doesn't really matter where they are.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>My main problem with the camera is there's no way to free move it like you could in WW/BG&E, which is fantastically useful. It's not as bad in levels 3 & 4, but level 2, with all those damn horsemen, was murder.</div>
