I played a bit of Baten Kaitos earlier, this is probably the best RPG release of the year, if you have a Gamecube and like RPG's, then I highly recommend picking this one up.

This is easily the best work Namco has done so far, and that's saying a lot considering they did Xenosaga. The plot seems really solid, and the battle system is amazingly solid, I didn't think it would be done this well; it's also a lot of fun compared to mostly everything else in recent years. The game reminds me a lot of Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 10, Xenosaga, and Skies of Arcadia so far.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>Essentially you capture the essense of things throughout the world in cards, if you remember Secret of Evermore's magic system, it is in a way similar to that, except much more refined and much more user friendly; plus it has a lot more features surrounding it. The essense captured can change over time, and the effects also change (for example, it would be like finding a cure potion in Final Fantasy, over time it would go bad, and become poison, which you could then use in battle). The system isn't at all like a typical card battle system, it is more or less like the type of system that can be found in games like Final Fantasy Legend 2; the cards are more or less just their explanation for how players are able to carry around these essenses. I really can't think of how to explain it better at this point, I do recommend trying it out.</div>
