The Other Worlds Shrine

Your place for discussion about RPGs, gaming, music, movies, anime, computers, sports, and any other stuff we care to talk about...

  • Video Game Music sites, some good atmospheric tunes.

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>It's not very difficult to find if you know what to look for (usually just find the name of the song and google that name + MP3); even though it's not the same as it was a few years ago when you could very easily find any MP3 of any game, it does require a bit of searching through a lot of garbage sites.

Here are some good tracks:

1) <a href="http://www.rpgamer.com/music/archive/ar ... genre=2</a> Download Bonds of Sea and Fire (Salivator version) and put it twice in a row on your playlist (because Mitsuda has a tendency to make very short songs, only like 2 or 3 on Chrono Trigger exceed two minutes).

If you can ever find them, get the following tracks (names may vary, as I got all of these a long time ago off of Kazaa light):

1) Maria's theme
2) Into the Sky (Maria's theme fast version)
3) Fei and Elly's theme
4) The one who is torn apart (Id's theme)

2) Speaking of Chrono Trigger, I liked a lot of the music, but in my opinion there was only one really GREAT song, and that was Schala's theme (which is one you can find easily on Kazaa or any one of those programs, I don't have a site for it)

3) <a href="http://bluelaguna.net/music/ff8/mp3s.ph ... p3s.php</a>

All the songs in Final Fantasy 8:

Ending Theme, is a long 13 minute song which includes an introduction, Eyes on Me, The main Final Fantasy theme, and remix of Liberi Fatali (which has a brilliant ending), possibly and arguably Uematsu's best work in this track. I do wish that they left the vocals out of this track though (even though they are important to the game plot, since it is the song that Julia wrote for Laguna and it is about how Laguna always used to go to that bar and stuff. Julia and Laguna's story is one of my favourite in the Final Fantasy series, especially how it ties into the rest of the FF8 plot).

Enjoy the rest of the FF8 tracks as well, I just brought the ending theme to attention because pretty much all of the other songs are very easy to get off of programs like Kazaa lite and stuff, this one I could never find.

4) <a href="http://www.ffspirit.net/ff/10/soundtrac ... ndtrack</a>

Return to Zanarkand, a beautiful song done in piano. This site has a lot of soundtracks for FF games, but I did notice that some tracks are cut off.

So the tracks I listed again are:

1) Final Fantasy 8: Ending Theme
2) Chrono Trigger: Schala's theme
3) Xenogears: Bonds of Sea and Fire
4) Final Fantasy 10: Return to Zanarkand</div>

Or go to this link, register on the forums, post some, and log into the various FTP sites to grab stuff. Just don't go overboard and follow the rules for each one, and you're golden.</div>
