<div style='font: 12pt Draconwick; text-align: left; '>The film is based on J.R.R. Tolkien's fantasy classic The Lord of the Rings, composed by Tolkien as a single volume but divided (against the author's wishes) by his British and American publishers into three volumes: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King.

I bet not many people know about that.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt Dominion; text-align: left; '>That's why each volume is divided into 2 books.. it's a 6 book volume that got split up. To call it a trilogy is to make Tolkien roll over in his grave; he made this clear in the prologue before the Hobbit.
You can buy the entire thing bound in one book.. they made it for the movies. Almost got it myself, but that's one big ass book.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>The first volume I read Lord of the Rings was whole book combined. But, after more than a year of reading, I had destroyed it, and now a similar edition to the one I had costs over $100</div>
