<div style='font: bold 9pt ; text-align: left; '>What a cool movie. I saw it mentioned in a thread below and decided to rent it. It was weird but cool.

I'd love to hear some insights everyone had that would help the movie make more sense. I never notice little things the first time I watch anything.

I did think it was cool how the whole time travel aspect kinda brought it all back around to the beginning of the movie.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>First, well. I don't know what's first.

Everything in this movie is so surreal, and some stuff is important while some isn't.

When Donnie is biking home in the opening, you notice a red firebird driving past his house when he gets there. Notice who just got home? Then, the night of the crash, after the first meeting with 'Frank the Bunny' you hear a car roar away after his sister gets inside. Guess who!

Also note the symbol on the engine when they are dragging it away. i forget it's meaning now but it is mystical or something. I think that after this event, the reality Donnie is experiencing is different. In this one, he has some abilities that would make him abnormal in the other reality. How else could he drive an axe into solid metal?

The book of time travel, the old lady, cellar door are all scenes to take note of as well.

Personally, I loved the movie for things like the rant on Smurf sex and seeing Swayze in those hilarious infomercials. The 'Mad World' cover was good to wasn't it!
I'm tired. Ask something specific and I'll try and answer tomorrow.</div>
