<div style='font: 11pt "EngraversGothic BT", "Copperplate Gothic Light"; text-align: left; '>(For the record, I have not called Eminem trash. I happen to like some of his songs.)

Let's look at a playlist from $.50:

P.I.M.P.
Bang Bang
Thug Love
I Smell Pussy
Gun Hustla
That Ain't Gansta
Get Rich or Die Tryin'

Hmmm...let me see. Isn't this the same tired, boring, FUCKING OVERUSED "thug life" motif which fifty billion other richboy gangsta-wannabe motherfuckers have already tried? See, Ice-T was cool, an actual pimp. This guy probably never even been to Compton. Hey, check out the album cover:

<img src="http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0000 ... ZZZZZZ.jpg">

Wow...we have a classic "thug life" cover, complete with a bullet hole, a "thug life" title, and the ever-so-important big-ass cross to show that even though he's a gangsta who's rapping about the thug life, he's still down with the Big Nigga.

Now, let's go listen to a song for a bit. I'll pick "In Da Club" because it seems to be a popular song. The beat is pretty boring, very repetitive, and par for the course of a "thug life" song. The G-thug gangsta can't seem to stop mumbling and speak intelligently, which kinda defeats the purpose of a rap song if you can't understand the lyrics. I did catch a "my money on my mind" lyric, which is a stable in any modern "thug life" soundtrack. (Also see "bling bling".)

ICP's backbeats are phatter, doper, better, more mixed than the shit that $.50 puts on. In other words, if you took away the words or have them talking gibberish, the song would still sound pretty good. Now, let's listen to a ICP song (Explicit Warning). Nice backbeat, good SFX, and you're always going to laugh at the stupid shit they rap about. If they aren't talking about themselves, stupid funny shit, or killing people with an axe, they talk about the possible afterlife (Pass Me By), injustice (How Many Times), not selling out (Radio Stars), and other serious shit.

Hell, even the black rappers on the Psycopathic Records are $100 better than your $.50 shit. E-Shawn could kick his fucking ass.</div>

Let's look at a playlist from $.50:
It's 50 Cent, not $.50....

<div class=msg-quote>P.I.M.P.
Bang Bang
Thug Love
I Smell Pussy(This is a Murder Inc dis)
Gun Hustla(He used to sell Guns, it's a fact)
That Ain't Gansta
Get Rich or Die Tryin'</div>

Except for P.I.M.P. none of these are actually on his album. You have the wrong list, don't know where you got it from, alot of it was before he went national. Here's the real list:

Intro (Quarter Drops)
What up Gangsta? (Details he has respect from OGs people in his home town(That's Original Gangstas for you uninformed people))
Patiently Waiting for a track to explode on(He and Eminem just kinda go off on this song)
Many Men(A dis aimed at the people who have tried to kill him, and the drug dealers he dealt with in the past)
In Da Club(It gets the club bouncing, dance floor fills up when this comes on)
High All The Time(Does it need an expanation?)
Heat(Talking about how to handle people that don't pay up, or he has beef with, and why they have to die)
If I Can't(If he can't do it nobody can basically)
Blood Hound(I forget!)
Back Down(Ja Rule dis, talks about erasing Ja Rule and his family Murder Inc.)
P.I.M.P(He feels he's a pimp, it's funny you mention Ice T, cause he likes 50!)
Like My Style(Like his rhyeme style, his talk style, his persona...style)
Poor Lil Rich(I forget)
21 Questions(50's attept at a love song with Nate Dog, not bad)
Don't Push Me(He'll kill ya if you push him!)
Gotta Make It To Heaven(He probley won't make it to heaven for all the shit he's done, so he's trying hard on this track)
Wangsta(Ja Rule dis, alot of people don't know this)
U Not Like Me(Now Sine, you should like this song, this song goes out to your fake thugs who aren't like 50!)
Life's On The Line(Old OLD dis at Murder Inc, hell 50 was kinda flabby for this video)
There's nothing wannabe about 50 Cent, he IS a thug, he IS a killer, and he IS a drug dealer, he's confessed many times himself, and if you don't believe him feel free to ask the police, they'll be happy to inform you they'd like the put his ass in jail for alot of the shit he's pulled.
Wow...we have a classic "thug life" cover, complete with a bullet hole, a "thug life" title, and the ever-so-important big-ass cross to show that even though he's a gangsta who's rapping about the thug life, he's still down with the Big Nigga.
Getting shot 9 times, makes you feel that way, listen to the lyrics of his songs Sine, he fears death like any man. He's lucky to be alive after all he's been through. But he's by no means scared.
Now, let's go listen to a song for a bit. I'll pick "In Da Club" because it seems to be a popular song. The beat is pretty boring, very repetitive, and par for the course of a "thug life" song. The beat is tight, you have no taste.
It's a party song, I hardly think he talks about his life that much in this song, except when he mentions getting shot a few times, and not walking with a limp as a result.
I can understand his lyrics fine and apparently 4million+ people who bought his album can too. In case you were wondering why he speaks with a slur it's because he was shot in the juggler of his mouth.

It's serious because they joke about it? Riiiiight, they're pussies Sine, they haven't done shit EVER, they never will do shit, EVER. Eminem Pistol Whipped one of them, I'm sure if they saw Eminem in the street they'd run like bitches. How can you compare the real shit 50 Cent has gone through to these fake punk rappers who rap about Bullshit?

Uhhh...I wasn't talking about what was on the album. I got the list from Kazaa, and I know that it isn't the best source in the world for titles, they look like shit he's done.
So be it. So he got shot eight times in Jamaica for some bad shit. It still doesn't cover the fact that the style is old and BORING. It's been done many, many times, and I'm sure everybody sick of hearing yet another thug getting his own album. Back in the days of Easy-E, it was fairly new shit. Now, everybody's try to copy off of each other, right down to the album covers.

<div class=msg-quote>The beat is tight, you have no taste.

Yeah, I was talking with a couple of friends about that. That brings me to my second point: why the fuck do you try to rap when you have your fucking jaw wired shut? That's like a chick who gets shot in the mouth with a shotgun and decides to join the choir. Of course, only the rap industry would promote that sort of thing, because like you said, with 4+ million people buying the album, thugs sell records.
It's serious because they joke about it?
It's their style. When they need to be serious, they get serious.
Riiiiight, they're pussies Sine, they haven't done shit EVER, they never will do shit, EVER.
You know what ICP originally stood for? Inner City Posse, their gang in Detroit. <a href="http://www.realjuggalos.com/kzoo/blue/History/">Here's a history.</a>
Eminem Pistol Whipped one of them, I'm sure if they saw Eminem in the street they'd run like bitches. How can you compare the real shit 50 Cent has gone through to these fake punk rappers who rap about Bullshit?
See, why you start spreading bullshit? Eminem didn't pistol-whip ICP. You think <a href="http://www.insaneclownposse.com/presski ... .jpg">this guy</a>, weighing in at 250+ lbs, is going to get pistol-whipped by <a href="http://www.freedomforum.org/graphics/20 ... .jpg">this guy</a>, who's lucky if he's 170 lbs soaking wet. No, Eminem, who's a fucking pussy in real life, targeted ICP's manager's brother, Douglas Dail.

ICP and Eminem have had a long history of bad blood, and they both started out in Detroit, so this included the local scene, too. I like some of Eminem's songs, admittedly, but Marshall Mathers has a serious problem with fucking people over for his own personal gain and fame. If you want the real story behind his shit, just listen to Slim Anus or Eminem Ain't Nothin But a Bitch.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt "EngraversGothic BT", "Copperplate Gothic Light"; text-align: left; '>You know, back in the day when rap was about the music. Back when the old school rap scene was underground, you had rappers rapping and grandmasters stratching. Rap didn't suck back then. It was built with that 80's sound, but it didn't suck. (When I'm playing GTA:VC, Wildstyle is usually my fav station.)

Sometime during the late 80's or early 90's, probably when MTV first put their "Yo! MTV Raps" show on, did they have this grand idea of ditching the actual music and rap about thugs, bitchs, and ho's. Of course, like anything else, it got popular and rappers turned to this new sell-out sound. For the most part, it's been like that ever since, but there have been some reforms to get back to making music, mostly from the cracker boys, like Beastie Boys, ICP, etc.

And ICP? "And they wanted to know if I would trade ten juggalos for a hundred mainstream fans. And I said I wouldn't trade ten juggalos for a hundred thousand mainstream fans. Ten juggalos is priceless." On that same album (Dark Lotus), ICP has a five minute diatribe (Dot Com) at the end where they thank a small slice of the hundreds of web sites and groups that have helped them out to spread the message of the Dark Carnival. So, it doesn't matter how many albums your sell-out sound has produced, or how many fans you have, because the juggalo family will kick the shit out of them every single time.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt Baskerville; text-align: left; '>...a guy rapping over a simple beat does nothing for me, I need some decent music underneath. That's why I like Dr. Dre, Eminem, Rage Against the Machine, and the Beastie Boys...its more than just the rap, and it's more challenging to rap over more complex music than just over a basic beat...I also can get into a rap artist if their lyrics are strong, like Public Enemy or NWA...I can listen to 50 Cent because he has some decent music on the few tracks I've heard, but I also dislike the his delivery because I can't easily pick up his lyrics, enunciation is important for me and I think it should be important for any rapper when you're basically a spoken word artist...too many just mumble incoherent lyrics...I'm not a big rap fan, mainly because a lot of it sounds the same to me...the videos are awesome though :) big pimpin' baby!</div>

<div style='font: 10pt Arial; text-align: left; '>Also, the guy lives in NYC, was shot 6 times and lived, though I'm not sure he's been to compton, but he's been to queens and the motor city. Yeah, some of his tracks are about 'thug-life', he's got to appeal to his main audience, but his other tracks like "21 Questions" or "Patiently Waiting" talk about other stuff. Yeah, so that's only two tracks, off the entire album, but all the tracks are put together pretty well, not to mention his vocabulary and how he makes some of this ryhmes are things I never would have thought would have gone together, and I'm an english major. Unlike most rappers of the time, I can actually understand him and Em. Jay-Z's the same way, and Ja Rule...well 60 percent of his stuff is audible, but still good to listen to. Now, I'll admit, I didn't really like rap until I hit my second semester of college and started to drink heavily, but some of it is good, some of it is utter shit that you talk about sine, but not all of it has to do with the 'thug-life' motif. It's alright though, it's a matter of personal preference and opinion.</div>
