The Other Worlds Shrine

Your place for discussion about RPGs, gaming, music, movies, anime, computers, sports, and any other stuff we care to talk about...

  • Saw Butterfly Effect.  Excellent movie, though I'd admit the ties to Chaos Theory were kinda weak.  There were also a LOT of influences from Darko, too.

  • Your favorite band sucks, and you have terrible taste in movies.

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>I've seen it a couple of times now, it's a movie you can watch at least twice, similar to other films in it's vein (like Fight Club), it has a whole different flavour to it the second time you watch it. It's amazing what the filmakers did with such a small budget though.</div>

<div style='font: italic bold 14pt ; text-align: center; '>sing a movie like that in the same sentace as Donnie Darko is Blasphemy. The movie was ok but how in the hell do you compare it to Darko</div>

<div style='font: 10pt "EngraversGothic BT", "Copperplate Gothic Light", "Century Gothic"; text-align: left; '>Time travel: Check.
Using one's own mind to time travel: Check.
A second person who also understands this time travel: Check.
Using time travel to save a newfound girlfriend: Check.
People's lives ruined by the changes the hero tries to make: Check.
Ultimately finding the solution to the problem by not playing God with time: Check. (Well, one kills himself, and the other just tells the girl to fuck off)
Petophilia: Check.
A six-foot bunny rabbit with a mask: Errr...okay, Darko has that one.

The only two main difference between the basic plotlines is: 1. Butterfly Effect is trying to change the timeline multiple times, and 2. Darko doesn't end on a happy note.</div>

He's one of those people who thinks he's hilarious, acts like a complete idiot, but people don't mind because he's pretty. I knew a lot of ugly dudes who acted exactly like him in high school.
