<div style='font: 14pt "Sans Serif"; text-align: justify; padding: 0% 15% 0% 15%; '>-Best costumes of any "Bible" film. It's amazing how much the ancient Jewish warrior outfits resemble the outfits of Asiatic fighters(or maybe not considering the location). I just don't remember being struck by this in any other film.
- I don't know who they got to play Simon of Cyrene, but he looked like what you'd expect a Jew from Cyrene to look like (not that I'd know what to expect...just play along).
- Satan was perfect. Understated, creepy, and always present, always carefully watching events unfold.
- Mary. Amazing. It would have been really easy to go overboard with this one, but the woman who played Mary was spot on. And on a side note, I couldn't imagine being in Mary's place in such a situation.
- Mary Magdeline. Monica Belluci does a good job. Her character is one example of how Mel expects you to go into the movie with some knowledge. I'll have to watch again to be sure, but you never really get a formal intro to Mary Magdeline. You just see her with Mary and you see a flashback...and that's it.
-Pilate..hmm, I talked about him. Very interesting take on this historical figure.
-Caiephus. The most obvious earthly villian, even more so than Satan in some ways, as wierd as that sounds. Where Satan was understated, Pilate was conflicted, Caiphueus just showed naked hate.</div>
