  • Interesting article on the over-saturated news coverage...

  • Somehow, we still tolerate each other. Eventually this will be the only forum left.

Grrr, I might get a Salon subscription, they often have articles I want to read. Here's a similar article, with cogent, but perhaps common sense, advice.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt "EngraversGothic BT", "Copperplate Gothic Light"; text-align: left; '>I wish my BBC channel would show the British news. At least everybody last night was watching that Sky Net reporter on the skirmish in Umm Qasr. Good work on his (and the cameraman's) part.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt Arial; text-align: left; '>I turned on CNN earlier today... It was ridiculous, it seems like they report on everyday bullet fired, person killed, bomb dropped, etc. Like the O.J. trial version of a war.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt "EngraversGothic BT", "Copperplate Gothic Light"; text-align: left; '>One good thing about this is that this means everything that is happening in the war is on record. The government or the military can't cover up some bullshit, because it's likely on film or on the internet.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt verdana; text-align: left; padding: 0% 10% 0% 10%; '>Cable news reports what is currently happening, which you don't necessarily need to know. (And if nothing is happening, they'll fill air time with inane questions and useless analysis.) I find that print - or the online version of print - are much better sources.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt georgia; text-align: left; '>Ive become more patriotic since all of this started. I didnt think the war was completely justified, but now that its going on, I totally support the guys and gals out there putting their lives on the line while I go about my day as usual. I just hope it ends soon. I dont even want to go into how pissed I am about the whole POW ordeal going on....</div>

<div style='font: 14pt "Times New Roman"; text-align: left; '>Indeed. Case in point: the Al-Jazeera POW video is already floating around online.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt "EngraversGothic BT", "Copperplate Gothic Light"; text-align: left; '>That's everybody's hope, but the Republican Guard is going to pulling off some more dirty tricks before it's over. They literally have nothing to lose.</div>
